    Well... a drivers car should be a manual !!!

    but you missed the bait... the Mustang is nr 2. You had to click on the “and the winner is” link ! Nr 1 is a 911.

    The old chief test driver for Porsche now says the new 911 S with the DGS gearbox is so good, just leave it in auto and forget using the flappie paddles, it's much faster and slicker. He should know, he's raced them for 50 years.

    There is no doubt that new high performance automatics or semi auto with paddles, perform better than a manual and shift much quicker

    but you still don’t get the satisfaction of shifting a manual, heel n toeing etc. it s a lot more fun than letting the computer do it for you !

    Too true, having owned some of the best stick shift gearboxes, I think I loved the Alfa best, But I'm a biker at heart, hardly ever use the clutch, just listen to shift.

    We have an 81 GTV6 which has a transaxle 5 speed. Even with a fairly well sorted out shifter and linkage, it demands respect :) In a very demanding way. ... like a woman. Mess up a downshift and she will let you know. And like a woman... don’t rush her.

    we also have a V12 E-type with a T5 and a fairly short shifter. It s a blast... flick of the wrist shifting. Heel n toeing is just for fun and the sound of the v12 whereas with the Alfa match long the revs lets you shift a little faster.

    The old GTV also had the rear G/B but was so sweet, you could just snick it, and the shift was in the right place. Alfa_Romeo_1750_GTV_Dash_(2720494621).jpg

    No bait missed. I specifically stated "Look who MotorTrend thinks is the #2 driver's car for 2019."

    I watched the video of their process. The 2020 911 carerra s was number 1 as you found out be clicking through. I already knew that from the video.

    There is also a HUGE price difference between the two cars. You could buy 2 mustangs and still have money left over, compared to 1 Porsche 911 Carrera.

    Right, that is the point and the take away and the primary reason I posted it.
    Not only did the Ford take second, it beat millions of dollars of other cars too.
    I don’t think that bayliners will pull this off against Formula or Intrepid though:)

    Did you get the wagon or sedan? They are classed here in Europe as a bit of a bargain sleeper. Good buy.

    The wagon: Got the exact same car as the picture in the link.
    Wagons in the US is not very popular compared to SUVs and sedans. Hence the T-Rex will be discontinued here in the colonies. :eek:

    It's so sad that wagons are going the way of the dodo bird... Europe gets some really nice ones, not so here in NA.

    I've currently got an Audi All Road for my daily car. Sold the 911 last year and am deciding between another 911 for the summer or the RS6 Avant coming back to the US has definitely caught my eye and would simplify life with only 1 car.
