    1995.. 47’ Viking..
    Hynautic engine controls.
    Started with a sleepy port shifter.. tried to bleed. No success now I have a floppy port shifter. Everything else works fine..
    When I went to bleed system. I followed the hynautic system bleed procedure to a t.
    Reservoir pressure was 125. And 2/3 full./..
    Nothing of any amount came out of the bleed valves. Pressure never went down nor did the level.. but shifter got worse.. just this one.
    Any advice/?
    1. Specialists is South Florida
    2. Replacement for mechanical MAN motors... for shifters..
    3. Should I just give up and turn the boat into a floating mobile home for affordable income housing..

    Try changing the reservoir filter. Sounds like you have a blockage.

    There is an allen head screw at the control lever. Bleed some from there.

    That’s one of the points I bled from...
    I do not know where this filter is... please advise..

    Ross Classic Yachts is in the Fort Myers area and is an excellent mechanic that specializes in engine controls and solved a Hynautic throttle issue on my same vintage Viking. Don’t know what side of the coast you are on but if you get extra frustrated give him a call at (239) 850-3715

    Did the pressure ever go down? Are you looking at the correct reservoir? Been here myself. One per engine and maybe one for the rudders.
    I have had those pressure gauges stick in place showing pressure and not have any.

    Your on the bottom or left coast?

    If it floats, it is not affordable.

    I’m in the Keys..
    pressure guage works fine. I have depressurization system to add more fluid ( proper glycol hynautic control juice) the guage follows my events just fine. No, the pressure doesn’t drop when I try to bleed, in fact nothing comes out of either control unit or slave.. the rest of the system works great.

    Sounds like you have a blocked hose or filter. If nothing comes out of any bleed screw. Are they all very stiff? Generally the filter is a mesh screen where the bottom hose screws into the reservoir, if memory serves me correctly. Could also be that your pressure gauge is bad and there's no pressure in the unit to begin with, thus nothing to push the fluid, and the source of your issue. Check air pressure at the shrader valve with a pressure gauge first.

    Page 13, shows where the filter is, but you also have to drain all of the fluid first, as it will all leak out when you pull the filter out

    Its been years since I had my hands on this but if memory serves me the filter is a porous bronze cylindric in line filter on one of the lines coming out the bottom of the reservoir. If not that than possible ball check is stuck on that side in the block manifold.

    I spoke to tech at Seastar.. they recommend I replace charge valves.. I will do that and update.. pressure guage works fine.. btw..

    Yes. It's on the bottom of the reservoir.

    OP: Working on a hynautic system is not brain science. So you should be able to figure it out fairly easy. The link I posted earlier is the entire owner's and installation manual and shows how the various parts are installed in the system. Make sure to get 2 gallons of the Hynautic antifreeze fluid and change/flush the entire system when you take it apart.

    Thanks.. Got three gallons of the fluid just in case..... Ordered new Valves --- going to dig in next week early..

    Also take the filter out and clean it really well.

    Update.. Changed the charge valves on the sleepy throttles.. the other valves are frozen.. so.. I ordered a whole new block to replace entire charge valve controller..
    Currently all is operational.. thanks for everyones tips..
