    Hey, I usually call it a "pick" but I weigh it when pulling it up. I agree, its all rode. "Keeling" over instead of heeling, is another.
    Though it really irritates me when folks try to speak in nautical terms but haven't taken the time to check out the language, rather repeat what they think others have said, I just ignore it as most folks don't really like being corrected.

    Just coming out of winter rig. Another 3 weeks and the topmasts and yards will be up and you will see footropes to your heart's content. lol.

    That's why I asked the location of your "foot rope" in the photo/avatar. Do you often "skylark" on that backstay
