    Hi all,
    I have a project that the switchboard on a 99 Nordlund, the PLC that controls the switchboard has lost its memory due to a dead battery in the Memory Module. I cannot find any good working number for Ocean Electro System LTD, much less an E-mail address. I know that they were once in BC Canada. We are trying at all costs not to have to install an new switchboard control system.

    Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes i have and no luck. Numbers dont seem to be in service any longer.

    Why wouldn't you contact Nordlund.
    They should have a copy of the program in the boats build file.

    I am working down that path as well. This is the second time In the past 6 months I have come across this issue with Ocean Electro LTD switchboards. These systems are so old that You need computers that are still running Windows 98 to even link up to the PLC. But also these PLCs had an external hard drive option for back up. Simple plug and play. I know where one of those are with this program on it but unfortunately that vessel is bank owned at the moment and they have no interest in helping.

    That's not something we would use today. If you can get a copy of the logic you should inquire about converting this to something more modern. I've made an inquiry on this and if I hear anything I'll be back to you.

    Can you post a wiring diagram or a picture of this "switchboard" ? Old usually means less lines of ladder logic code. But it could be 50.....500 … .or 5000 lines of code. As indicated above reengineering is possible. Cost is related to the complexity of the PLC. Does any one here know if this company keeps its code preparatory ??? Windows 98, I think I still remember a lot of those DOS commands, IIRC :rolleyes:

    Meant above "proprietary" sorry for the typo. I have a resource that has access to very large data bases that are not public ,not even to search engines. Plus persons who have been trained to source items considered not available, that's their full time job to find them. I would be glad to try to help. From previous work ,pics of the chips and boards that run this code may be relevant as all numbers . More info, the better. There could be a part+ code sitting in a warehouses inventory list somewhere in the world no one else knows about.

    Is there just one board or one per engine / control.
    Read / write to a fresh EPROM could save the code strings.
