This is probably what she looked like originally. This particular photo was a brokerage ad that said it was 93'. I'll check the Trumpy book appendix and see if it can be identified.
The identity of this boat continues to elude me. By process of elimination I have come down to the last possibility being "Mariska" of 1927 Hull # 185 93' LOA; later names: Truelove, Heigh-Ho, Dolphin, Josephine, Windswept, Helma, Lady Mary Official Number 226991
One other possibility is this boat which in 1935 was named Marion but was originally Thalia of 1925. However this view does not match what Thalia looked like when new.
Another view of Marion: She was also named Yowana, Shiawassee V, Golden Greek, and Private Dancer. It's a possibility she went back to the yard and was modified from her original configuration at some point, which was not uncommon.
Hey Andrew, my name is Jennifer Flournoy and you may reach me at912 9772711. I am trying to save Sangamo, in Darien Ga.
View attachment 78854 I acquired Nadesah/Sangamo/Friendship in June. She is in really rough shape. She was underwater for the second or third time but her mahogany was never submerged. I have removed about 15,000 lbs of stuff from her, including the 671 Detroits that were submerged for months. I am now trying to get her stable. It's a hardscuffle. She has been on the rail in Darien, Ga. for 3 weeks. I am going to save her from the bottom of the river, but $$$$ is an issue. We will see what happens. I'm a restoration contractor. Buildings, not boats. I've been a boater all of my life, but only fiberglass. I'm gonna save her but I don't have the money to properly restore her. She is for sale and she will be afloat in another month. We shall see.
Any chance you recorded a 6 digit number stamped on any of the components? That would be the official number and could be used to positively identify the vessel.
She's still on her way back, she was burnt to the shear from the pilot house doors back. She's in Baltimore.
Her original name was Nadesah, then Sangamo, then Friendship. I have renamed her The Ruffled Grouse II, her owners had a Trumpy built in 1912 named the Ruffled Grouse, so I opted to continue their original Name. My name is Jennifer Flournoy and I took possession in August 2017, when she was underwater. She is on the Darien railway. You are welcome to get in touch with me...
Sorry for the amount of time that has expired between posts. When I got to her, most everything metal had been scavenged. All that remained was wood. Would there have been anything stamped on wood? I have a local contact about her arrival and who worked on her a bit when she arrived in Marshallberg, NC. Trying to get mor info on owner at that time. I have found some additional photos as well. More investigation seems to lead to more mystery. Nothing conclusive. I believe you might be on the right track right with the picture in post #342. The spacing of the pullman windows, the different size stern portholes, the searchlight and railing are all identical. None of the other pictures/boats match up as close
