Capture.PNG Capture.PNG HIGH WATER LAKE ONTARIO
Attaches is pictures of Port Dalhousie Yacht Club two miles west of the Welland Canal.
Lake Ontario is over three feet higher than last year, they were to put all the boats in this weekend but have now cancelled that.
Had a call from the Captain from Fort Lauderdale this morning who comes to the Great Lakes every year on a 85' Pacific Mariner and last year when he cleared the last lock in Oswego Canal he cleared the bridge by only one inch, so this year he is coming up the St. Lawrence River which will add around 1500 miles to his trip.
I have a few more clients are also making the same trip up the St Lawrence.
Anyone who is coming up the Erie Canal system with a high air draft should make sure they check on water level at the last bridge.
They have closed the dam at Cornwall Ontario as the lower seaway is flooding causing Lake Ontario to rise.

Entire neighborhoods in Montreal were evacuated earlier this week... quite a mess here, and we're expecting rain to some degree or another every day for the next week at the very least.

Would a vessel the size of M/Y Pick Up need a pilot in that part of the Seaway even if it weren't on a charter? Just curious.

State of emergency has been declared for most of the southern shore of Lake Ontario. Many marinas are flooded or closed. The high water is also putting much debris into the water. Washed out trees, docks, etc.
Any captain attempting Lake Ontario should check with locals and locks first.
I was going to attempt this year, last year stayed south for repairs vrs going thru. Might have to spend another season in MD due to the high water.
Roger, do you have height of the 85 footer? I can get through with 18' clearance.

No I do not have the height of her he will be here in a few weeks will ask him when he arrives.
Last year he cleared the bridge by one inch .
Bridge 0-13A in Oswego clearance is 21.15 ' at normal overhead clearance.

This is the water situation here in Quebec for those with riverfront property... so yeah, anyone coming up the St Laurence seaway needs to check their air draft.

I can confirm that Quebec city marina is doing fine and water levels are well controlled with the locks and inflow/outflow to the St-Charles river.

65's or 66's? I'm asking because the 65 has been discontinued but they could be some of the final ones built. The 66 is it's replacement.
