Your are quite right, it should be Aziza and not Aviva. Thanks for poitning that out. Any ideas on how to edit the post? Dan
The S-76 helicopter may look like being at home on this yacht. But most of the crews did not feel being at home on this ship at all. At least not during the time frame, when the Sikorski S-76 on Lady Moura was operated, maintained and crewed by a helicopter company from northern Germany. The S-76 is a pretty large helicopter for yacht operations with low ground clearance of its belly from the ground (critical during flare). The visibility out of the cockpit, especially the slant range visibility during approach is pretty limited. It is an IFR cockpit and a cabin for VIP and crew transfer from airports to big prepared landing spaces and back. And it is noisy, very noisy. Technology of the eighties. Pilots do not prefer landing this big bird in confined spaces. But it is a very stable platform for winching personal down to and up from ships and offshore platforms due to its AFDS with 4-axis autopilot including automatic hover mode. The Megayacht world may look bright and always beautiful from distance but it has its dark side also. Many crews and even owners could fill books with stories from this side of the business.
