NEED HELP!!! I bought one of these new cases 3 years ago and have not been able to find a place to make the gears. My drive train is the 6V92TA Detroits with the ZF 310 IRM gearbox and 250M v-drive. Before buying the case I was told Casale Gear could make the gears. Shipped everything to them and they came back after a month and said they could not make spiral beveled gears. I recently shipped everything again to a place in Chicago, Product Igear. They told that my gears are tapered helical gears not spiral beveled gears, so back to drawing board. They referred me to Forest City Gear who told me they needed data that only ZF could provide and ZF will not pony up. They want to control their OEM ability of outdated parts by not giving any information, forcing me to get a 325IV and change the length of my shafts, angle, raise the engines etc to make it work. I am already $13,000.00 paid for this new case. So really need someone that knows what they are doing involved. rick at mypromoplanet dot com eight 17 six 58 two9 4six
Why would you spend that much on a new case? About your only option is to replace both and put modern v-drives in the boat, last I checked about $30k to do both. Then you could sell your working v-drive and recoup some money. You should've just replaced both v-drives with new ones.....see if you can sell the new case and 1 good v drive. ZF I think it is has a v drive that is very close and your shafts and stuff should work if I remember correctly.
I saw a full page ad for a company, General Propulsion, LLC. that featured 24 ZF gearboxes in the new Boats & Harbors. They claim to specialize in marine transmissions. No website.
Hello Hans, if you are still able to produce the v-drives or have them stocked, please contact me. Thanks Reiner [Mod comment; Email deleted, use PM]
