Add your Roamer

Hi folks! I just joined the forum "officially" that is. Lol. I have been an avid reader for quite some time, but now I have found my dream boat, a 1965 57' CC Roamer with Aluminum Hull. She needs alot of TLC to bring her back to life, but after long contemplation.......I have decided to take the plunge...excuse the pun.
Anyway, I joined this close nit forum to get the benefit of such informative CC Owners!
O.K. now must ask for some help. The boat is located east of Jacksonville Florida on the St. Johns River and the boat has been sitting in slip for a few years without the engines "Detroits" being started and run. There is much growth on her hind parts so the fear is that due to the heavy growth the engines may not draw water. The boat will need to be towed down to Holland Marine about 28 nm south to get her hauled and the bottom cleaned up. Is there anyone in the area that can help me get her towed down to Holland Marine down in Green Cove Florida? I would gladly pay your fuel and cost, or maybe you know of someone who can help get the towing done? Well, any help will be greatly appreciated! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I can't help you with towing but congratulations on the new boat. The pictures look like she is in OK shape, hull wise.

Steel hull. Twin 327's.
Dry-docked for the last six years.

Congrats! Looks like a nice boat. Keep us posted on your progress. Its always nice to see one come back.

No clue what I'm doing, so Ive got a lot to learn while I'm getting the exterior painted. Named "Bilbo" for the last 8 years, she was previously "Never Enough"

Thanks! I will. I've started both engines and have been doing some tune up maintenance, but can't get the shrink wrap off it just yet. It just snowed again on Sunday.

Update on my Roamer.
Shrink-wrap off, topside and hull pressure washed, antifouling paint applied, carbs rebuilt, bilge cleaned, rudders and shafts repacked, canvas fixed.
just need to replace impellers and I'm ready to splash!

New owner 6-15-2017 of a 1968 Roamer Riviera 46' aluminum with 8V71 Detroit diesel's, mahogany interior, mostly original, excellent condition. Hull ID: RAQ460507R. Not found in archive yet.

Was she ever named "Boca Clmati" (sic)? or perhaps "Rents Due"??
Cause we have found ALL 7 of 7 AL 46's made by CC in '68, and Boca C was the only one reported with a green stripe (and 8V71s; no flying bridge). In any case, we'd love to add her to the "List of Known Survivors" - just need a name (and some history).

Was this one ever named "S.S. Hillsbrook" or "Teco"?
Those are the other two '65 Riv 57s we've found so far (Hull#'s RMA-57-1501 & 2).
Otherwise, need a name & hull# to add her to the "List of Known Survivors" - which I can email to you at alloyed2sea AT yahoo dot com.

I just purchased a 1960 43' steel hull Roamer (hull number 111) in spring lake, mi. The boat will be relocated just a few miles North to Muskegon, Mi (Terrace Point Marina).

I would love to know any history. It will be a work in progress for the next year to two, but is something I intend to keep forever and pass on as I have been looking for the right one for years.
