Bob: The center hatch is a bait well/ fender storage. The tank lifts out so it is a lot easier to get into the space. Some of the Posts were done that way as a option back then. My father's 75 had the 3rd hatch its nice to have.

Cool, thank you! They look about 24x24? There are only 3 tanks remaining, I think they all have fittings broken off. I was going to cut them up.

The three in the pic look like the fittings are still threaded to the tank. I would interested in them if they do not leak and are the same as mine.

I'm sure some of the withdraw fittings on the bottom are broken. I was going to run a 1/2 inch pipe tap in them and glue in a nipple. I've never had water in them. I'll take them home and stack them behind the garage if you want.

Hi Bob: If the nipples are snapped off the the bottom of the tank then cut them up. Its hard to fix polypropylene and they are thin tanks.

    Thanks

2 tanks appear to be good. I'll stash them away for you. Winterized today. If I hold off on my knee replacement, I guess a good wintertime project would be replacing these:

    Replacing? They look good.
I'm assuming those are from Marine Exhaust Sys in FL.
This time of the year it takes them 6 to 8 weeks to copy them and send them back.

You always catch my miscues! Should have said "installing" these. I don't know who made them. Ordered from J&T New Jersey. Price was competitive. Replacing 40 year old cast iron ones.

MFG name is usually stamped on that round disk/tag. I think it's cool that you can get risers off the shelf to fit & work.

I didn't want to take the originals off during the season, the water bypass I installed was functioning well enough to run. The JT casting numbers were all I needed. in truth, J&T New Jersey has been very supportive even though the engines are 40+ years old. I can't speak so well of the Baltimore branch.

Egg- cellent. When you find a good shop that takes care of you, let them know.
I assume some one at J/T figured the cast design would fail and needed replacements on the shelf. That is an expensive inventory collecting dust on their part.
Hopefully, they (J&T) are on top of other spare issues on the horizon and don't mind their money collecting dust on a part shelf.

As like the set of Covingtons I maintain; It's hard to kill a Detroit. Attrition of ancillary spares will be ole Detroit Diesel demise.

More good news for that shop.
Wonder if they look over the best forum shop with real cool Post/DDC kids.
J&T Baltimore branch needs to pick it up if they want to do business with my friends.

I've never had an issue with Baltimore's parts department, and I finally got all but $300 back after they botched rebuilding my blower twice. If they can't rebuild a blower I'd think twice before trusting Baltimore with any 2 stroke Detroit service.

I remember this event. If I recall, they tried (or did) bill you twice also.
    Glad you got something back.
