I was boating Sunday and saw this monster on the Dania Cutoff Canal. Does anyone have information on this project?

Doesn't this belong in the Rogues forum?

A little google action reveals that she was the HOS Trader, Offshore Supply Vessel working oil and gas for Hornbeck Offshore. Got stretched at Leevac in Houma, LA and towed to Dania for finishing out

Future reef material I hope. That's ugly.
K B may have stated it correctly.

Its a big conversion, they don't all end up as silk purses. If someone is prepared to spend the coin in the local economy I think its is good for the area. If the Owner gets what he wants and enjoys it as he intended then its even better.

Edison Cheoust did that with one over this way about 10 years ago. They built a big bohemoth over in the Gulf, then it sat at ACY for 2 years while the interior and finish work was done in Stuart,FL by ACY.

    That's not a flattering angle... o_O

I'm guessing she's going to end up as an escort vessel of some kind?

Now, I'm not saying she's not easy on the eye, but this one has more sharp edges/angles than a stealth fighter.
OTOH, she has more style than the alternate 'birthday cakes' a/k/a the "Sir Winstons".
Bet this owner has a Checker Cab (Marathon?) parked somewhere.

If the owner is happy, thats what really matters in the long run. He is going to get a lot of boat for the money with this approach. Not everybody needs or wants a jewel of a yacht, looks like this will be big and comfy.

There are some pictures and data available on the web. That is a pretty large (around 100 meters LOA), beefy and capable yacht support vessel or shadow / explorer. I would classify her in the range of Tatoosh or Le Grand Bleu. Wheather we can call her good looking or being of good quality, the final result will show. The basis looks like some heavy piece of iron.

Never having seen the underbody of yachts like Tatoosh or LGB, I wonder about that comparison. Supply boats generally have flat bottoms, and hull forms that maximize the amount of cargo that can be carried. Think of them as very large barges, with flat bottoms, straight sides, and a bow section on one end with the stern section on the other end.
A parallel could be the design of ocean liners as opposed to the boxy cruise ships that sacrifice a seakindly hull form to maximize interior volume.
In any case , I do think that this is an interesting refit project, and in the long run if the owner is happy thats what matters.

A conversion project taking place in Florida has been unvield and named Danah Voyager and is a reported 90m. She looks extremely top heavy and will most likely earn a spot in the Rouge’s thread.

Converted OSV. I believe the name "Dania Voyager" is a build name that relates her location on the Dania cut. The two or three photos released so far don't make her look that sleek so I'll wait for more than a few fuzzy published photos before judgment.
Top heavy?? maybe, but that could be said for most all cruise ships sailing these days that are 10 stories high and draw 25 ft. or less.
This vessels draft is 16 ft. and along with 110,000 gals of fuel she also has ballast capabilities of 120,00 gals so while beauty is in the eye of the beholder her stability shouldn't be an issue considering her draft and ballast abilities.

I was told that the jumboisation of Voyager was 60 ft. @ the fwd. engine room bulkhead taking place at Zigler ship in Louisiana. This mid section was five decks including the tank deck.
Bow- on isn't here prettiest angle as she has a fwd. house & is a bit wide at the shoulders but her profile is nice. She's faired and painted to yacht standards.
