Don't know if we have any Nikola fans, but I'm getting amped-up over tomorrow's debut... http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...del-3-does-0-60-in-under-4-seconds-says-leak/ Zero to on-ramp speed in under 4 seconds. Next exit, 300 miles. If it looks like the offspring of an S and an X, then Elon is one vowel closer to building S3Xy.
I was on a little road trip today with my MB. Could have done it with almost any car, but not an electric...
I'm looking forward to it but doubt the 300 mile range. Seems a lot of overlap with that at that price point. Going to seriously consider getting one but probably won't preorder it.
A small side note to the sparky cars that are now in vogue... Down in Miami, at the Pinecrest Library parking lot (Sparky Car Country!) I witnessed two--TWO--charging stations for electric vehicles, pretty much side by side. The Nissan one looked like something from a Jetsons cartoon--very modern & stylish. The hand-printed sign said "Inoperative___parts on order" The other was kind of frumpy, sans sign, operative we assume, and was TAH DAH! a Tesla charging station. [Both free, by the way] Mebbe Elon Musk gotta be given more credit where it's due?
T-minus 30 minutes, unfortunately, I don't think much will be shown besides the exterior (being a baby Model S).
She looks pretty indeed. Nice specs too. 115k preordered so far but I think I'll hold off a while before getting my own. I have to see what BMW will end up soon with autonomous driving.
3 looks good to me, but Model Y to go high? OMG, really? Wait a minute, did I just see a pig fly? No, it was a car! http://www.motortrend.com/news/tesla-announces-model-y-building-the-car-detroit-is-afraid-to-build/ (Mind officially blown) edit: Did Motor Trend punk its readers? Is this an April Fool's joke…?
They put an alternate send button in gmail. It would send a Minion "dropping the mic" and shutting down the thread. They apparently weren't thinking of how many people use gmail for business purposes. Apparently many of them hit that button instead of the normal send button. They said the problems were "due to a bug." They also said "it looks like we pranked ourselves." "Thanks to MicDrop I just lost my job," claimed one user on Google's product forums. "I am a writer and had a deadline to meet. I sent my articles to my boss and never heard back from her. I inadvertently sent the email using the MicDrop send button." Another complained that they had been having interviews for a job with a company for three months and then accidentally sent a mic drop email to the HR department. And a third said that they had sent an "important email to 30 recipients".
Yet to see interior shots, but it will probably continue to have a $10,000 car interior: minimal cup holders, in awkward locations, lacking a central arm rest in the rear, etc...
400,000 orders to date. India will be one of the markets. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/teslas-musk-says-has-almost-400000-orders-for-model-3-2016-04-21
Most people will have to wait 3 years for their car, and Chevy's Bolt will be available in under a year.
