I am trying to clean the windows from the inside but the screen needs to be removed to get to all of the window
While that is a fine photo, I was hoping for a picture from the inside of the screen you are trying to remove...
Sorry Capt, I'm not seeing the solution in the photo. I am assuming there is a spring loaded track that you can push the frame forward and then pop out the rear corner and then work the rest of the screen out. My Carver 404 doesn't have these screens. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. Hopefully someone else on the site will be able to chime in with better advise -Jimmy
I have the same screens. There should bro a slightly smaller lip in the bottom of the window track, you lift up on the screen and slide the lower edge of the screen over the short edge of the track. Takes some fiddling but they do come out
Hey, Carver Capt, I have the same boat and I can't really remember how the screens come out. I will look when I go up to the boat in a few weeks. In the meantime, I noticed the California shutters you have installed. Would it be too much to ask you to post some shots form the inside the boat, of the shutters in the closed and open position?. They really intrigue me and may be just the thing to replace our current blinds. Are you happy with them? What are the pros and cons? Thanks!
They were done by sunburst shades in Dallas. Custom fitted of course they were about $2100 installed.
As to pros and cons They are great for keeping the heat or cold out Look awesome we think Solid vinyl so 0 maintenance No cons that we have found and they have been up for 3 years.
I like the shutters. Thanks for posting. I will look into a local shutter company. I was thinking about a galley refurb as well. I was a little concerned about flexing so I thought stainless tile back splash would work well. I do like your counter top. I see you've moved the microwave into the old oven location. Is that a glass cook top on the counter?
