    I will make a full description of all work done, it was done with the engines in place, and actually not a very time consuming job, and not extreme costly...(in my opinion)

    It's a great feeling when engines start on the first turn, and don't smoke more for 5 seconds then your breath at a cold day...;-))

    Thanks, I just dread having to do it, but I get smoke now until they warm up. More annoying than anything but I don't like it

    If you're getting that kind of speed out of them and they run good, make good oil pressure, and no excessive smoke, don't mess with them!!!!

    That was right of the blocks with new paint, in the river everything was optimal. Subsequent runs on the bay were 27.9 to 28.2, but still have that 29 max locked on the electronics!

    The fastest my 46 w TIBs went was 27 KTS WOT and that's with a full load of fuel.

    But, I have to be honest, that was running Buzzards Bay with a few knots of current and wind helping.

    The fastest I think I've ever seen is 24 kts. Also on a flat river, with the tide, the moon and stars were aligned.
    Mine are 410 hp.

    I'm running the same props on my 43. Dropped the pitch to 24x25 with the super cup to get full 2500 rpms. Couldn't get it with the 26's. I can also just get 28 kts in better conditions. Just had them prop scanned this winter. Had been 10 years since the last time. We were both surprised it was that long. You guys with the 46's, don't forget we are 35K in weight with the same basic engines. Quite a bit less to push than you. Has to be a speed difference.

    48,00 is the number that sticks in my head too but I don't have that documented anywhere. Glad to hear yours is 48K, it validates my memory... some.

    Mine is around 48k too, but the Marina I'm in at the moment, uses a hydraulic trailer to haul out my 46 and doesn't have a weight scale working...

    I'm about to undertake this job......not looking forward to it. I'm guessing the engine needs to be lifted a bit for gear removal clearance? As in....otherwise the gear will not clear either the backed off shaft or the hull itself?

    Yes - Just block the rear of the engine against the hull after removing rear motor mount nuts and loosening front motor mounts. We had an A-frame setup in the salon to pick the back end of the engine up. 2 of my earlier posts describe the whole process in detail.
