    Thank you Beau,
That is one patriotic dog. I am hoping to get some more replies, there must be tradition and or myths involved with flags on boats, maybe not. Does old glory need to be lit @ night on a boat, should she be taken in @ night? Needs to be higher than perhaps a yacht club flag. Would like to also learn some nautical terminology involving flags on boats.

About Time - Beautiful boat! The folklore I heard about flag size is 1"/ft in length. I thought it seemed too small for my '50 so I went with a 36"x60" on a 60" pole. See pic attached. Flag.jpg

I'd have to measure but, it's not oversized. I believe you "strike the colors" at sunset, and there are special rules about burgees and height prominence

Full Xglass could be an option, not sure... but black is not done in my opinion, maybe silver?

Sorry misread, thought you don't want white......do you mean flybridge or cockpit?

If Flybridge, limitation could be the Xglass sheet size, but I would like to have the front window in one peace (changing that now)!

For the Cockpit shade I used white on top and gray down, much relaxter for the eyes!

This shade goes up and down in 5 mintues. The Adjustable poles are made by surefly in fla. I have the canvas attached with a channel so I simply roll it up just under the cockpit overhang. Works for me rain or shine.

P-46 for the cockpit shade white on top grey on bottom, so what kind of material? Do you know the name? Was that two pieces sewn together, or does it come that way?

Beau, Sunbrella canvas? How old is it? will it hold up to the sun in Fla? I was told vinyl will crack when folded after time.

It comes that way and holds up already 2.5 year in the Curacao sun!
Will ask the name of the material, it's a sort of vinyl, let you know.

Sunbrella fabric, no vinyl, first one lasted about 8 years up here. Different design. This one 1 years so far The company that makes the poles is sunfly located in florida, might want to check with them for info.

looking good, great metal work. I would recommend a white vinyl top with a different color below to reduce glare. I have seen grey or light blue used and they both look good

As prommised, white/gray vinyl still in 'as new' shape after 2,5 years in extreme salt, windy and 365 days sun climate
