DOES ANY ONE HAVE CURE FOR BACK SPRAY - SALT MIST INTO COCK PIT WHILE RUNNING 1990 46 POST FULL INCLOSER
Luckydog It called the "station wagon" effect Most SF have it to some degree. Some have tried isinglass in the side cutouts. Mine do not really work, but I do use them in the rain
If you don't have them already you could install spray rails to direct the spray further out, but it won't be cheap nor a sure cure.
I have the isinglass on the side cut outs, it doesn't really help a whole lot. In face I took the isinglass down and put it in the boat house a while ago.
Yeah it's not uncommon particularly while running on the plane. I wondered whether you could put deflector shields up across the transom, but of course they would be a right pain putting up/down. Maybe an integrated spoiler designed in would work but that won't help you.
An integrated deflector can have a positive effect. I've seen deflectors similar to what you see on the back roof's of station wagons or SUV's added to the aft edge of the hardtops to direct down some of the boundary layer of relatively dry air (unless it's REALLY crappy day!) into the cockpit.
hmmm, not on a 50'. In 3-4' on the bow with the wind and tide against you, I agree. What does LOL mean?
Yep, a 50 could make the difference, out on the sea we always have 3-7ft waves, and I keep them closed, and open up the side windows... In the early day's LOL stands for is "Lots of Luck" or "Lots of Love", nowadays, LOL stands for "Fun" or “Funny"... (In Dutch the word lol means "having fun") and this is what Google says: https://translate.google.com/#en/nl/LOL
Consider having horizontal air inlets sewn in over each front panel with a flap and zipper if you get too wet on the bridge with the panel open
Any way you can raise the atmospheric pressure behind the cabin will help to some degree but there's always the trade off with mist/spray when you draw from windward. Higher up is always a good idea, spoilers deflecting downward, open or vented enclosures or hardtop hatches all help but in rough conditions also can give you an unwanted shower.
