Actually "Katara" had a chase boat for a while. I remember when she used to come here... the chase boat would be in the grenadines sometimes... and I'm sure the helicopter (A7-HMD) left "Katara" here and flew to the Grenadines to rendezvous with the chase boat for whatever reason.

It has been few years since we saw any breakthrough in the tender category, it is the same limos year after year, while the new yachts are always pushing the envelope in design and technology. Tenders should follow suite in my opinion.

    Thanks for sharing bro. ;)

    Cheers.

Well I would say it depends on the owners requirements and taste.

    Alright any new suggestions? :)

Right about the requirements and taste, yet, all those new projects depend on a design vision and create a need and desire to the owners. I think we should have seen more new options for boarding, maybe more tenders that are certified as life boats, and vehicle tenders, if you look back at many of the ideas that passed in this thread, you will notice many just passed by without update of venture. Just a thought.

A flying tender would be a nice idea! ;) Which gets me to ask; has any of those "mage-giga" boats added that French "LISA" planes? Haven't seen much of'em on the most famous yachts.

Well Madame GU's Limo is a bit different... so is "A's"... but most of them are pretty much cookie cutter... and just being painted the same way as the mother ship.

The only difference is that it is styled nicely like its mother ship and the helm station is aft of the limo cabin for a change from what is almost a standard front station, so more or less a continuity or modest modification rather than a design breakthrough. Ten years ago, each new limo design had something new to show, like Espen's hydraulic lift roof, or layered sliding roof panels, or folding bow ramps, etc. after that, it just became repetitive, and am not saying that it is an easy thing to dish something new with every build since most ideas die against technology and "feasibility" realities. Yet, where is Vikal's spirit in introducing "solution" tenders for instance? Now all we are getting to see are boats styled in a way to justify their "per-foot" cost compared to production or semi-custom day boats of every shape, size and form.

I had thought we'd see better application of amphibious solutions, tenders that double as fancy "one-of" toys. Heck, no one even bothered investing in a self righting tender that would at a minimum get SOLAS to smile and say nice try! If not badge it as an acceptable lifeboat. Seen any of those beyond Fassmer and BMT?

Go back through the pages of this and the previous thread and you will notice a gap in real "Wow factor", the only thing I noticed during the past 5 years is the compact profile of most tenders to fit in a side garage. Maybe I'm not seeing much tenders. :D

Sponsored by "49ers" ball caps, and "Oakly" protective eye wear! I guess it is only intended for mounting electronics and a touch of something more than being a top cover. With the banana seat and the overall look, it would be nice if the control was a joystick to each side, GI Joe kinda setup!

Yachtwerft Meyer finally updated their website..a pitty they only show photos of a few 0f their latest tenders. They actually built the tender to a few Amels LE180. Among other recent deliveries are the limousine tender to "Event" and 2 Ribs for "Ocean Victory".

I also found photos of the tenders to "Topaz" built by Vikal (10-12m). Especially the convertible is pretty and real masterpice! There are also videos for each tender on their website from where I took the photos.

A look at the pair of 7-meter tenders for S/Y "Sybaris" by Cockwells. The Limo is pretty interesting because of the height constraints in the bow garage, the roof of the limo can be taken off and stored upsided down to allow the hatch in the foredeck to close .

There is a new tender from Riva that the Ferretti Group recently unveiled to the public. She is called the 'Rivamare' and is a 40-knot nearly 12-meter (11.88-meter) superyacht tender that can comfortably host eight. The vessel even has an overnight cabin for a longer range mission.
