I saw an article in Trade Only that Newcastle has launched a new 180 footer from their florida yard. I assume it is the yard in Palm Coast along the ICW?

over the past couple of years, everytime i go thru the ICW i noticed "something big" being built there, has anyone seen pictures of the launch?

must have been quite a sight, the ICW isn't that wide there...

Very nice looking boat......however the interior seems cluttered and has very little walkway width for getting around the bed in the master or past the couches in the salon.......but very nice......amazing to see a yacht of this magnitude come out of Florida......

I thought the same but if it bothers you there's an enormous full beam VIP king a deck below it.

What really amazes me is what part of Florida she came from. The first time i saw her stern in the building shed, I did a double take... I really wasn't exepcting this along a narrow stretch of the icw which is mostly residential.

I don't think the icw is much over 200' wide there, then you have to go thru the shoaling at matanzas to get to st aug inlet.

Very right for a 180 footer, even under tow

I, too, had been watching that ship come together over the past few years. Amazing, when you think of the river at that point. I saw it at St. Augustine 2 days ago while it was being sea trialed. Their tender/chase boat is an (approx) 27' twin engine Intrepid Center Console.

A quick conversation with a couple of people in the know advised they splashed it at midnight, given for the full moon/highest tide. If I remember correctly, it's still only drafted 10' or so. Would have loved to been there for that! I just wonder if they motored or were tugged to St. Augustine?

I tried to get some pics, but was on the move solo and had more important things to tend to. Still impressive by any stretch.

Name change and new topsides paint completed at Derecktors shipyard in Ft.Lauderdale fall / winter of '13-'14 to very high standards. Much better than the original paint job.

For those keeping track, she is currently called "Loon" after being sold in late 2021 I believe.
