    Does anyone know of any upcoming boat shows in Europe?

    There it the London boat show but that isn't until January.

    There are many, but I think Southampton, Cannes, Monaco and Genua are among the most interesting for bigger boats...

    The next one for normal size boats :eek:, is the HISWA in water boat show in the Amsterdam Marina, Netherland, (from 2. to 7. of sept. 2014). Great show, very interesting, also for equippment and charter.

    The biggest indoor boat show in the world is Düsseldorf, Germany "boot" in late january 2015. This show is so big, you need more than one day.

    That boat show in Düsseldorf sounds very interesting. I will try to visit this upcoming Jan.

    "Boot" Düsseldorf

    There is an excellent coverage here on YF about the boot Düsseldorf and their website is very informative. As you can see,the exhibition area is very close to the Düsseldorf Internatonal Airport (with dozens of flights to and from London per day) and if you book your ticket online, the train, tram, sub and all bus tickets are included in the entrance fee for the complete Düsseldorf-Cologne area. But honestly one day is not enough. You will need already a complete day in hall 6 and 7.

    And you need to make reservations to get on the nicer, bigger boats in advance!

    That's good to know. I assumed it was a matter of turning up and queuing to get on board a boat. How do you reserve a place to get on board a boat. Do you do it through the event before/on the day. Or do you contact the specific companies directly?

    In 99% of all cases, you will get your appointment for viewing within a few hours or ar least on the same day. They do that in order to keep the boats from being crowded and seperate the average visitor from the potential buyer. And the potential looking adult will get his appointment much earlier and easier than the 16 year old school kid :p.

    Only the very big boats in Hall 6 are limited to real potential cusomers. But a business card will open all gates immediately. And I am sure somebody like you, searching in the 60 ft+ class will be able to push its wishes through :D.
