We have 1964 38' Chris Craft Roamer in Clayton,NY hull # 38 207
She is in the water and runs. Beautiful boat. Slowly restoring her. Husband has done considerable hull work / welding. Whole family has sanded and painted and done some exterior wood work. A new surprise every year of what to fix, but we love her.

I have hull number ROD 38 0212 R. Must have been built nearly the same time.

I picked up a 1963 offshore last fall. ROC-38-107. It was delivered new to Sturgeon Bay,WI in 1963 and has been floating each season ever since. It looks real nice next to my 1963 Comet.

My son, who is a freshman Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering student at University of New Orleans, and I, just purchased the "Stardust IV" and will be continuing restoration started by the prior owner. Any advice is appreciated. Current photos. http://instagram.com/dwiggmd

We drove the boat through open water the 60 or so miles from Bay St Louis, Miss. to New Orleans on thr original 454's. Mechanic looked them over and they are in pretty good shape. We are now at South Shore Harbor on Lake Pontchartrain.

So very sorry for falling into cyberspace. We changed internet providers (we live out in the country) and when I changed my address on this forum, I neglected to click the correct box, hence I no longer existed.
As you mentioned on the 'Survivors List', FDMY RMQ -58-0501 RNFI "Never wrote back"
Well, here I am writing back. 0501 was a construction start in 1969 but titled as a 1970. My quote "Are you interested in its disposition?, be careful" means this is not for the Roamer Purist (you know who I mean). Nor for the weak of heart. This is what we found in 2004.

Love your graphics, and oh, so true. Upon first laying eyes on 0501, the wife refused to go aboard, she probably was brighter than I was at that point. That pic was (we'll call it) day one.
Here is somewhere around day 60.

Here is day 120 (give or take a week). Nothing like a little 'back yard project'. And yes, we've heard every Noah joke ever uttered. "Expecting rain?", "we're missing two cows, Have you seen them? ".


and about 3 months later
and again a month after that (we'll call it day 150)

Now fast forward about 400 days worth of cleaning, measuring, designing, submitting Acad drawings to NA, NA's response and discussions, revising drawings to his recommendations, re-submission to NA, and finally those dangerous words "Well, it works on paper, let's order some aluminum".
