Good news + Free Beer Now passing out updated Excel spreadsheets of "Known Roamers" to anyone who PMs me a personal email address or writes me: alloyed2sea at yahoo dot com. Due to technical constraints cannot post the "List" on YF or send to you otherwise - as much as that would simplify things (rules, rulez!) The "List" groups all Roamers by hull size. Within each hull size Roamers are grouped by year and material. When known, hull#'s are detailed as are boat names, history(brief), owner and contact info. So far, we have "found" approx. 22% (440) of the approximately 2000 Roamers (1500 steel/500 AluminIum) manufactured by CC. Some of the historical details included will astound you (makes for great vacation reading! ) Call in today! Cheers, Eric CC Roamer Club webmaster, archivist, and A2G2(allaroundgoodguy), no?

We have 1964 38' Chris Craft Roamer in Clayton,NY hull # 38 207 She is in the water and runs. Beautiful boat. Slowly restoring her. Husband has done considerable hull work / welding. Whole family has sanded and painted and done some exterior wood work. A new surprise every year of what to fix, but we love her.
Offshores Rule Outstanding! Especially like the optional bridge. She's now made the "List of Known Survivors" (2nd '64) - and wonder if she has a name? History? etc. Cheers! -Eric "Tin Tonic"
S'more Offshores Here's the status of "Known Offshores", at least by our count: 1963 Offshore (ST) ROC-38-20* "Sha**rn" Duluth, MN (1 of 20) 1964 Offshore (ST) ROD-38-206 "Roamer" Annapolis, MD 1964 Offshore (ST) ROD-38-207 nfi Clayton, NY 1964 Offshore (ST) ROD-38-212R nfi Chatanooga,TN (3 of 15) 1965 Offshore (ST) ROE-38-307 NFI Kewaunee, WI (1 of 7) 1966 Offshore (ST) (0 of 15) Five of fifty.10%. Not so great. No doubt alot (alot) more exist. Send them in today! Cheers, Eric (thewoodenmastsarereasonenuff,eh?)
I picked up a 1963 offshore last fall. ROC-38-107. It was delivered new to Sturgeon Bay,WI in 1963 and has been floating each season ever since. It looks real nice next to my 1963 Comet.
My son, who is a freshman Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering student at University of New Orleans, and I, just purchased the "Stardust IV" and will be continuing restoration started by the prior owner. Any advice is appreciated. Current photos. http://instagram.com/dwiggmd
We drove the boat through open water the 60 or so miles from Bay St Louis, Miss. to New Orleans on thr original 454's. Mechanic looked them over and they are in pretty good shape. We are now at South Shore Harbor on Lake Pontchartrain.
Well it's definitely on the list now (that makes a total of 448 Roamers "found" - 22.8% of known production) - THX! Which raises the question, how is she doing? Moreover, we want to see a photo, no? So glad you made it! Cheers, Eric "Tin Tonic" PS - email me: alloyed2sea at yahoo dot com for a copy of the latest "List of Survivors" excel spreadsheet.
Well, you'll never believe this, but "Stardust" had a twin "Stardust IV" ('69 Regal 41') - now owned by another Roamer Club member - who changed the name to "Kip's Ahoy II", but I digress. Anyhow, have added her to the list of "Known Survivors" - can you tell us more about where she was bought? hull-number (on top of port engine stringer)?? engines, etc, etc. Thanx for reporting in - photos look like she fell into good hands. Cheers, Eric PS - Here's a 1970-only Regal 41 with a RED stripe - factory photo.
Eric, So very sorry for falling into cyberspace. We changed internet providers (we live out in the country) and when I changed my address on this forum, I neglected to click the correct box, hence I no longer existed. As you mentioned on the 'Survivors List', FDMY RMQ -58-0501 RNFI "Never wrote back" Well, here I am writing back. 0501 was a construction start in 1969 but titled as a 1970. My quote "Are you interested in its disposition?, be careful" means this is not for the Roamer Purist (you know who I mean). Nor for the weak of heart. This is what we found in 2004.
Wow, did she ever look like a child's art project gone wrong! Still, judging from the owner's new avatar, "Tinacious" (great name) has fallen into stronger hands. Always a mysterious presence, we wish her well and wonder when we shall "see" her again. Roam on!
Love your graphics, and oh, so true. Upon first laying eyes on 0501, the wife refused to go aboard, she probably was brighter than I was at that point. That pic was (we'll call it) day one. Here is somewhere around day 60.
Here is day 120 (give or take a week). Nothing like a little 'back yard project'. And yes, we've heard every Noah joke ever uttered. "Expecting rain?", "we're missing two cows, Have you seen them? ". and about 3 months later and again a month after that (we'll call it day 150) Now fast forward about 400 days worth of cleaning, measuring, designing, submitting Acad drawings to NA, NA's response and discussions, revising drawings to his recommendations, re-submission to NA, and finally those dangerous words "Well, it works on paper, let's order some aluminum".
Truly a massive undertaking - one with impressive results no doubt. Imagine there's a new bathtub rubber ducky now - only hope the giraffe made it home. Cheers! -Eric
