How does a healthy storm not knock that thing over?

This just begs for the "front fell off" joke.

Looks slightly more plausible than the subma-cat.

Once you get over the ugly, I can see some interesting ideas.
Anybody see the retractable keel, steering by thruster and the hole in the sail area? I did not realize at first but the hull and the lower sail is under water.
I don't see any ugly solar panels, sure something of the kind is around.

With enough rum, I could do it.

I think the top roof are solar panels....just underneath the engine???

How about a floating blimp/yacht. You could take on ballast air to sit on some sort or floats........then drop the ballast and fly to your next destination.....

It sure has one heck of a draft. Won't get into many of the good ports I am sure.

Engine? The propulsors are in pods just above the main hull.

Their website is pretty good, entertaining anyway and entirely within the realm of posibility.

The whole project might be some kind of fantasy or scam but the concept is really kind of cool. I'm the world's second most cynical person (k1W1) is first but I would love to see it turned into hardware.

What it costs and how long it lasts is another thread altogether.

    Web site, that's cheating.
Kind of fun, trying to figure out some stuff from one picture.

    Hi,

I have refrained from further wear on my keyboard so far but lets see what happens in 85 days.

    Hi,

I had set an alert for when this vapour ware was supposed to become reality.

    Guess what?

The recently posted 85 days morphed to 145 and today it has increased yet again to 207 days and some hours so don't get too excited that it will be coming to an anchorage near your home town any-time soon.

    Hi,

I thought it was time to update this thread on the progress with the construction of this vapourware.

The latest timescale: Follow the construction

    Hi,

    Maybe.

Do you remember the day you and I went to the factory for a look?

Upon reflection the time would have been better spent on the shady terrace of a nice local eating establishment where we could have discussed what we missed over a nice bottle or two and reached the same conclusion - A lot of hot air and snake oil.
