Good thread idea. I looked at the vid and wow...! The table is so seamless it almost looks computer generated. Makes you wonder how well the mechanism would hold up to a salt air environment?

    Good find.

    This one fits right in.
    It's on Feadship "New Hampshire"
It has been posted on the feadship thread, but I think it's cool.

    Hi,

I have seen one and been shown how it works on a yacht around 10 yrs ago so I can confirm they do exist.

The guy I worked for at the time liked the idea but not the price.

I think we have seen the table here before, but it has been awhile.

Here is sort of a "making of" video:

I was surprised the top is not even solid wood.

I've heard of pricing anywhere from 25k to over 100k. Considering the engineering and parts that go in, Not all that unreasonable. They are, after all, a bespoke table.

    And not even automatic.

We had a dining table for years at home that we really enjoyed, a butterfly table. Expands like most any table with leaves but the leaf stores beneath the table and pops up when you pull the top. Was definitely not $5000 though. I think more like $400 when we bought it.

cool ideas - elec windows on vintage Feadship

how about this for cool…just fitted to my 62ft motoryacht TIKY - originally built in 1961 and just completing a total rebuild. the window mechanism consists of a very low-tech electric motor and pulley system.
