She's going to have the forward observation lounge turned into a second master bedroom.

    Hi,

It is surprising how long it took.

ICON Yachts as such has had very few employees for the last couple of years and were pinning their hopes on finding another client willing to go there for a new build.

What they do have though is a good large covered drydock in Harlingen which is not the centre of the universe but seems popular enough with the other Dutch Builders who do not have enough space at their own facilities to use for refits.

Someone will snap it up fairly quickly if it (the property) comes to market IMO.

Do you know if "Maidelle" was built on spec. like "Icon" or was she ordered by a real client? I remember she was sold shortly after her delivery..

    Hi,

Maidelle was to be the second of the three but was put on hold while Baton Rouge was finished.

It is correct that one of the partners in the yard owned her.

A little dicky bird tweeted to me that he is now the 100% owner of the remaining asset - the dock.

    Hi,

I posted previously that it wouldn't take long for a suitable suitor to be found although I expected given some whispers I was hearing it to be someone else who was already in the business and would take it on as an additional facility.

The quoted words above ring a bell to me and I think they were used when another shipyards name was in the text other than ICON.

"Icon" has finished her 6 month refit, being extended to 68m and adding a new 5m swimming pool and an enhanced beach club. This seems like quite the undertaking in just six months. Along with this, they have launched a new website.

That is a very generic press release for sure. Gives no concrete information whatsoever, doesn't give the name of the owner. Doesn't say how miraculously everything is all good now. Certainly could be used over and over.

She would look less like this if they also extended the aft overhangs.
