Has anyone changed the aft sanitary lines in a 3607? It looks like quite a task. Any comments would be appreciated.

I replaced mine about 4 years ago. Its a job that requires two pretty strong people. After disconnecting from the waste tank you need to secure the new hose to the old hose and pull thru all the openings to the pump out connection on the port side of the boat. Takes alot of pushing and pulling. Can't express enough how important the connection between the old and new must be. You don't want it comming apart part way thru the openings.

I did mine on my 3608 and found that using the heat gun periodically to soften the line really helped. I also threaded a length of standard garden hose through all the openings and it seemed to help guide the new sewage line it was quite a job. Another tip given me by an experienced Captain was to place melons or cantalaupe in the compartment after the new sewage lines were installed to absorb the odour. Really worked well.

Thanks for the replies but I guess my real question should have been how do you removed the outflow line from the tank. It is buried under the bunk. It almost looks like the front of the bunk would have to be removed to access the clamps and have room enough to work. I have changed the other lines on the forward tank and it sure wasn't an easy task. Any 3607 owners out there?

You can fix the stink without replacing the hose

Once the hose starts leaking the odors, the hose will always permeate odors and eventually fail. Yon can not clean or fix a damaged hose. You can cover it up for a while but the fix is to replace the hose.

it can be done long as the hose is not physically leaking.

    If it stinks, it's leaking.

My hoses are 20 years old, ridged, but not cracked still held solidly in place with the original strapping and I fixed the smell after a friend sent me this and I tried the stuff It worked but hard to find (had to go on line)
$20 bucks is a lot cheaper and a lot less work (I'm very lazy)
    I also tossed my filter.
I was always worried about venting and causing problems to the tank with pressure or vacuum
    Just my 2 cents
