Near the beach? I surely hope it's not your intent to go near the beach. Perhaps you mean handle shallow anchorages and rivers and the ICW.

Now you also said 100 ft and 70+. That's a large difference.

Then Jets. There are a very limited number of jets out there in the size and price range you gave. Why jets? In Jets in that range, I'd look at AB Yachts.

But I think it might help you to back up a bit. First, what is your experience. Are you looking to be an owner/operator or have a captain and crew? How do you intend to use the boat. Short cruises, months at a time, live aboard? Do you want to fish? How many guests? Do you intend to charter it or just keep it for personal use?

Perhaps with the answers to some of that information, people here can give you better assistance and direction. Then I'd encourage you to charter some boats in the type and range you think you like and see how that goes.

You still don't indicate your experience. The size boats you mentioned are not generally conducive to owner operator unless that owner is himself a Captain and even then would need some crew. Typically for experienced owner/operators a boat up to about 60' works and some models up to 70'.

I'm still confused as to what beaches you're talking about getting close to.

Is there something you're looking to do that a 60' boat wouldn't be adequate for? Are you looking for displacement speeds or semi-displacement or planing? Trawler or MY?

There are many threads on the forum you can search for information on cost to operate. One rule of thumb is 10% of the price of the boat new per year. But I believe that number is high for many boats. Your boat, your usage, what you would DIY as opposed to hire is important. Then how much you need to reserve for major overhauls or rebuilds.

You give the impression of someone who has fallen in love with the idea of boating but has very little experience or knowledge. If that's the case, then I'd charter boats for a while in the ranges you're thinking. That will help you find out more what you like and don't like. A crewed charter in the range you're talking about will generally run you $30-50,000 per week fully crewed.

I would also recommend some courses for you then, either boating or maritime. There are quite a few captains who teach and train.

Just wondering what beach. I understand many on undeveloped islands in the Bahamas but in South Florida you don't go near the beach. Well, not so near that you need a jet. Yes, the Oceanco looks nice.
