One of our customers MAN display has a led panel going out. The display box is perfect and the display is nice and bright. A line of segments starting dropping last year from the upper left. Now, the bad area is getting larger.
Don't need the whole box, just a lead on a good lcd panel or another whole box.

I still have the shakes about the Man price on the box, no lower parts available.

The MAN electronic parts like that are definately not a favorite of mine. I had to replace the alarm monitoring boards on a set of 1100 common rails a year or two ago because they both read 99,999 hours one day on the hour meters. Man designed them wrong, but won't admit or pay for replacements even though every dealer admits it and the new ones are an "updated part" that won't do that.

Anyways, the man dealer in Fort Lauderdale was able to get them straight from the manufacturer of them at a large discount than straight from MAN. Try giving Pete a call at Marine Diesel Specialists in Ft. Laud and see what he can get a display for. They're a large MAN dealer.

Another route, is it might be possible to get an electronics place to replace the screen in it for you. I'm not sure if it's a possibility, but well worth looking into, after you pick yourself up off the floor when you find out what the Man price is on that part.

MAN will repair the displays for free but you have to pay the dealer to send a tech to remove them and put them back in when the display is showing crazy hours.

As for the problem the OP is having I have not heard of MAN fixing that for free.

MAN fixed our main board issues with the engine hour problem. They offer no support on the displays.
Seems the LCD display part of the whole display box is a special part not available on the regular service/repair market.
Boengin seems to be the supplier but no support from their web site.

Looking for somebody that has an extra box or a bad box and maybe a good LCD display in it.

    Hi,

Ralph, Can you confirm the spelling of the supplier name in your post of supply any more details?

If you can open up the box and see the display as a whole you might be able to see some identifying marks on the LCD Panel itself.

This could well be the easiest way to get a new one.

    MAN Displays

The supplier / manufacturer for the MAN displays and monitoring systems is the Boening Company in Bremen, Germany.

If You look under Homepage- www.boening.com - after sales - spare parts, they provide contact data (service@boeing.com), telephone numbers and a download pdf spare part catalogue (in english). This guys are very cooperative and eager to help.

I know this company for years and as I will see the Boening guys at the Düsseldorf boatshow next week anyhow, PM me the details of your faulty parts and the problem. I will forward your problem to them and try to get them going.

    Hi,

    Good Find there HTM09.

Ralph, On Page 44 of http://www.boening.com/fileadmin/user_upload/spareparts/spareparts_en.pdf

You will find the screen that seems to have replaced all previous ones including the one the number on yours refers to.

It was also refreshing to read on the home page that although they make all these for MAN they will support anyone who has one.

So, if your car battery is not holding a charge and the problem is determined to be a bad diode that allows discharge when the car is parked (engine off), you replace the alternator, rather than the diode?

Give Lev a call. It's only a call. He fixes displays, he is mobile, and he is in your general neighborhood.

That's just what I'm trying to do. But I just need that lcd panel (diode per your example) and it's not a ready off the shelf part.

The lcd panel (display) is the alternator.

The bad part(s) in display panel = bad diode in alternator.

Again, give Lev a call. It's only a call. He fixes displays, he is mobile, and he is in your general neighborhood.
