    Just took possession of our 2000 Voyager 450. So very glad to find this site. So what's next… I need parts. I am located in Long Beach CA and looking for a source for parts. First thing I am looking for is the backing plate for the fore deck cleat. The "U" bolt attached is sheared off. Not sure if prior owner had problem anchoring and came up tight but it is a clean break. Any local area where this can be ordered?

    Lots of questions coming. Still low on the learning curve.

    Time to become a metal fabricators good friend.
    Backing plates (under deck) don't require allot of finish, just function.
    Sketch out the size you need and hit a local shop. He can bolt or weld an "U" or pad-eye on it that may out live the boat.

    Yes, I do have a friend but his company is closed this week and I was trying to finish one project in a timely manner. Guess it won't be this one. Thanks for the advice…

    I have a 99 450. You will love it. Best boat I have ever owned. And I've had 52. It rides good, handles good, after you get used to the delay in the twin disk electronic throdle s, and it is very comfortable. This will be my last boat. If you need parts, call Brett at carver (920) 822-7227, he is the parts manager. He has always come through for me. I have been amazed at what he has got me. One suggestion. The first thing you need to do is correct a factory defect. The two fender lockers on the bow have a 1 inch hole that drains into the each or locker. The anchor locker has a 1/4 inch hole to drain it. Do the math. You will want to install 2 through hull drains under them and run hoses from that 1 inch hole to them. If you have water in your bilge, that is where it's coming from, enjoy your new boat, you will love it.

    Thanks for the heads up. That's right where I'm working. Drain in chain locker clogged and of course locker is soaked. Have cleaned and now draining but I see your point. I will keep your contact ! Thanks again.

    We bought ours a little over a year ago. We lucked out. It was fresh water only from the Chicago area, out of the water 5 months of the year and very well cared for. People can't believe it is a 99. It really looks like a new one. We have done many upgrades to it and are preparing it to live on when we retire. I met a guy with a 450 in Florida after we bought it that was a great help. He had his for 5 years and had done a lot of improvements to it as well. He gave me a lot of helpful advise and has become a friend. He took his to the Bahamas last winter and is taking it on the great loop next year. It's great to find people willing to help out. He saved me a lot oh headaches.

    Thanks again for your input. I hope to talk with you more as we get further into our upgrades still trying to figure out the best way to clean this baby!

    PO has good records and all manuals so still doing a lot of reading. I'll be back with questions real soon
