We enjoyed participating in the Parade of lights last Friday night, today went out with a few friends and we couldn't find nothing on the fish finder. When we decided to come in it was like a white blanket 50 feet off the bow. Well it's the time that I hate and realize its time to put my baby to sleep for the winter.

Even after 10 years, I feel so privileged with ‘every day sunshine with a nice breeze’, can imagine it’s frustrating to bring her to sleep!

Happy Holiday’s Ruby and I raise my glass to all YF members and especially my Post Yacht family members!

We were fogged in last week, near freezing weekend (think you were warmer) and back in the 80s & clear today.
It's not over yet, not with out a fight...

Oh Oh, Wait, I almost forgot,, Yes the weather is terrible down here.
Fog, Ice, Snow, Hurricanes, Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Gators.
Yes, yes, y'all honker down up there. Don't try to travel out of it. Dig in and we'll hear from you after you dig out,, IF we survived the typhoons, rising water and politicians.

****** humor. But ya know I had to do it.

Sorry the season has ended my friends, stay warm, safe and happy Christmas / Hanukkah holiday season to all our friends up north.

    God bless us all,
    Ralph & Josie

    The season is over

The season is definately over here in Germany too. Northern Germany was hit by the hurricane Xaver the last days. Hamburg encountered the second highest flood in history. Thanks god, nobody got killed, our emergency services did a perfect job and all flood barries (most of them recently reinforced) were strong enough. But still scary. One of our cargo vessels had to make a last ditch scramble maneuver by leaving the port of Bremerhaven to gain the safety of open sea :)confused:). Otherwise it would have been smashed onto the pier.

The new NCL cruise ship from Meyer Werft had to be towed to the open sea from its outfitting pier at Bremerhaven for the same reason. Pretty hard job for the tug boats, to tow a 1050 ft cruise ship giant in gail force wind.

Lets hope, it was the last storm for this year for us. B.t.w. thats the place, where I normally park my car, when I go for dinner.

Yikes, the soup will be watery there...

I winterized the last week of Oct.
It is always a temptation to get one more week end and then another & so on.
Problem there is that my house would fall down around me because I'd always be working or playing on the boat.

So, as much as it pains me, it is good that there is a change of seasons for me.

And now, back to my house job list..........

late fall, winter, and early spring are my favorite times to be on the water.

I enjoy 12months of boating in the Northeast, but I do end up paying between $300 and $500 a month in electric to keep the boat warm during the cold months.

I also have a small pilot house outboard that runs 12 months a year.

P46 - Can you tell me what beach this is? It's too broad to be Lagun, and the lack of relief (and development) in the background means it's not Westpunt. I'd like to see this one the next time I'm down there.

You probably think lights strung on palm trees do too. While we're out to sea this week, the lights are being put on ours. We had just moved in a year ago so had minimal outdoor decorations. This year much more although still not as elaborate as many. Rather simple.

I was just picking up his joke about our cold and stormy weather up in the north.

Tell him, we hate him for living in his 365 day summer, just off the north coast of South America :D. B.t.w. Curaçao is a beautiful island even with this odd language, Dutch :p.

    Happy holidays, P46-Curaçao
