Does anyone know of a stainless bow railing removed and sitting somewhere? Since I bought the boat the railing at the tip of the pulpit has been bent. I'm looking for this front piece that joins into the rest of the railing and the 4 vertical stanchions on the pulpit. I'm pretty sure the pulpit\rail is the same on the 42 - 46 models for this front section. Figure this is easier than trying to have it straightened or replaced if one is laying around. Thanks, Mark.
It probably isn't. The damage as you describe would be much simpler to have repaired vs buying and replacing the entire bow rail.
Not looking to replace\ship the whole rail. It is three pieces with the pulpit part bolted to each side. Only want the rail going around the pulpit which is around 4'x5' in size.
Well, if anyone has a Post bow rail laying around and they're willing to sell you part of it you'll be good to go.
It certainly looks to be original. My guess is if the boat came with a pulpit (maybe an option?) then the rail around the pulpit was spliced\bolted into the sides. I'll have to take a pic when I am back at the boat. It has a smaller piece of tubing inside the joint that has bolts through each side to hold it together.
Hi BEAU, I think about the Katadyn 40 or 80 model, but a friend of mine knows a boat owner that has a (almost) new one in his garage...so wait to see what he's got and then decide, I would like to make one myself, but have so much boat work to do...it would be wiser to buy one!
I have the same bow rail on my 1986 46 Post, I am sure that any canvas guy who bends stainless steel can remake the top part of your pulpit bow rail. The lower vertical stanchions are die-pressed and would be difficult to create.
