I have a 1987 Mariner 3297 and am wondering if anyone knows a manufacturer making a boat cover to fit this type of boat. With it costing over $500 to shrink wrap each winter I am looking for alternatives.

    Thanks for any advice!

Thank you very much! I will be contacting both companies.

FWIW, there are apparently two different Fisher companies. I gather one manufactures covers from canvas, and the other offers covers of poly-something-or-other. I think the principals are somehow related to each other. In any case, choice of material may influence cost, ease of installation, etc.

That sounds familiar. Two Fisher companies. There's probably a reality show in the making. "Boat Cover Wars"

I was thinking of the canvas version.

I've had the fisher canvas cover from the company in jersey and I wouldn't buy one again. Heavy and it leaves a grey dust all over the boat. When you pull the cover off in the spring it's like the boat wasn't covered...

I'd say all the canvas covers are heavy. I don't know about the dust problem. A friend has a Fisher canvas cover that's been on the boat every year since new in 1994. It's worn and has had a number of repairs, but it survived Sandy.

    Winter cover

500 to shrink wrap would be a bargain in Ontario, Georgian bay area. We have a Chris craft 350 catalona. Cost to wrap this winter would have been over 1200. So we purchased a custom winter cover from genco marine, made from a very light waterproof material. Total cost about 2400 including the framing. Came in 3 bundles which zip together. The heaviest bundle weights about 40 lbs. their covers have been known to last in excess of 20 years. If you can find out the specific type of material from their web site you might be able to locate a supplier in your neck of he woods to make one up for you.

I appreciate all of the information.....and though $500 to shrink wrap isn't that bad the main problem is finding a reliable person to do it. Like everyone else on the Ohio River we try to stretch the season as long as possible, and then everyone needs wrapped at the same time! I would like the option of having a nice winter cover at my disposal. timvail, do you have a website for genco marine, a contact, or should I just google them?
    Thanks again!

I had a winter cover made for my Santego 2767 (27') by this company in Kingston Ontario. Great people and maybe they have a template for your boat.
