    Has anybody ever done this? Did you have to stop off at other islands to replenish? What was your experience like? :)

    Hi,

    I met someone who had done Vancouver to Tahiti in the early 80's, theirs was a journey I would not care of partake of myself.

    The lack of preparation and non existence of experience were their biggest problems.

    You might get good specific information by asking these guys.

    Incredible site with tons of information on past participants, on the islands, on all the issues one faces. Most start from further south than San Francisco. A lot from Mexico, some from Panama, some from Southern California.

    I love sites like that even though not a sailor. Just like reading circumnavigation stories.
