Next task is identifying the perfect 36" plotter. The new PDF's don't look so great on a monitor but have great definition printed.

How did you fit your luggage in that "white 911" unless you only had a tooth brush? It must have been a Convertible, too? :)

    Hi,

If you don't need a certified marine monitor the choice of what to display your stuff on is quite vast.

I saw the IMTECH Team strutting their stuff at MYS on large Apple Displays that the guy I spoke to informed me were not Marine certified which I found a bit strange when they were trying to sell big boat systems and these that were being displayed could not be sold and installed with these big monitors.

I was just talking the PDF's. Now our regular charts display great. Just the PDF's that they are now providing for printing, as designed, print significantly better than they display. Even so, you're right, they might display better on some things than others. When I typed that we were in the stateroom and displaying on a 55 inch LG so naturally some definition lost.

We have a 52" LCD monitor in the saloon of our Bert. We can plan our trips in our recliners. Of extra fun, can watch the bottom scope, radar, usb cameras and real time position on the big screen also.
More toys, 2) 17" LCD monitors at the helm. These get some sun and weather. one spare below. When they fry, reef material and another gets plugged in, then Internet search for cheap refurbs. Usually cost more for cheap shipping than the display itself.
But again, The Paper charts are somewhere (somewhere) close by.

We had a lot of luggage, including a big tent, camping gaz, two sleeping bags and two air mattresses. Nothing visible inside the car, it is a Gran' Turismo you know..:)

Never did any camping though, couldn't find any sites without a map.. :D

Yes, our large screens work fine with charting software and even with the regular online charts of NOAA. But the PDF charts just don't have clarity on the one we tried. Made for printing and not so much for viewing I'm guessing.
