    Foldable shade

This shade allows you to fold it when fishing. You just pull the release line from the bridge. I mounted four rod holders on it.

Looks good, is there a roll-up mechanism for the fabric?

No it just hangs, but a roller mechanism would be nice. The curve of the overhang may make it difficult to mount a roller. I only fold it while fishing at trolling speed or drifting.

Quite expansive...would it suite our classic 46?
    Or to modern?

also, at Curaçao we need a permanent protection against sunlight...

A few years ago replaced a canvas cockpit cover with a permanent one. In Western Australia we also need to hide from the sun a lot, so a canvas cover simply didn't last too long, and it didn't cover as much of the cockpit as we liked. I had a local stainless guy weld up the frame and it was covered with Starboard. The pic shows the view looking down from the flybridge.

Did you lost all visability from the flybridge to the stern?

From the helm seat, I could never see the back of the boat anyway, so this structure didn't really change anything. To see the back corners of the boat I have to get out of the chair and lean over the edge. Not really a problem in my case. I briefly did investigate reversing cameras and such, but haven't really hit on a good arrangement so far.

I really like your cockpit table. Can you tell me the brand and mounting information?
    Thanks

It was built by Scopinich in Stuart. It is mounted on a fighting chair pedestal. I can mount a chair, fighting station or table on the same pedestal. The table has a block and wedge underneath to level it and work with the deck chairs we had.

    Cockpit Shade

Don't know if your still working on this project but here is a picture of mine. Its a full cover that snaps under the brow and has runners to slide in for folding up to the brow for fishing and also to lay it down on the transome for storms. It has a boot cover for rolling up the canvas when not in use. I can fish with it up. Nice for deep dropping and trolling for fun. Outpost Transom.jpg

Thanks. Does the pedestal mount below the deck so when you remove it you can put a flush deck cap over the hole?
