I know talking about owners isn't allowed, but hopefully this is ok: is she still owned by Jobs' estate? Or was she ever sold?

The biggest irony, I've been told, is that all 7 Macs on the bridge of Venus run on Windows XP. Apparently the software they use, Unimacs 4000 Bridge Systems (by Imtec Marine) is windows only. The switch would have been expensive and time consuming. Two of the Macs run Freetecnics FT Navison.

The apple yacht runs on windows!

Knowing the orignal owner and has patent-practices, I just hope that he did not patent anything on the design-cue's of this yacht like the all-stainless-steel bow.

I'm not the biggest fan of the design/style of this yacht. I find "A" to be a more matured and sleeker design all around with more natural lines (i.e. flowing) rather then almost ruler-baed straight lines. To me, the contrast with the flowing lines of the ever changing ocean and aquatic surroundings it to big to be in harmony.

Nice catch on the windows-based OS runnign on the MAC's though... Though it being a MAC-yacht, it surely has a lot of "windows" :p

It is likely that the patent, if there is one, will expire before anyone requests the same design.

Lots of computer savy people buy a Mac and wipe it then convert to totally Windows/PC operating system. I am not talking about partitioning the hard drive like with bootcamp and running both Apple and PC sides... it's using the existing hardware and configuring it into a PC!
Though that might not be politically correct / PC.

Yes, but one thing is computer savy people and another is Steve Jobs in his dream and only yacht. The info came from the guy who did the set up, so it is entirely reliable and can easily be confirmed with the company. To make the change to mac involves quite a lot of work and certification by marine authorities, time and money. Steve Jobs was more practical than he made us believe.

Looks like it has a corrugated metal shed on top shielding domes etc. Thought it looked even worse up close when she was at rybovich.

Looking at her pictures, I wonder how "wet" she'd be in some head seas?
With such a straight bow, I have a hard time to believe that she doesn't pick up a lot of spray.
Then of course, does it really matter?
With the pilothouse so far back and the overhangs on the pilot house and the main salon, chances are little spray would get to the windows.
Any opinion(s) or experience(s) with this type of bow design?
    Cheers
    Jack
