You are not showing on AIS.

Cam is sending okay, so know you are out and about on the ocean.

Must be operating in stealth mode. :D

This link shows your position (location), without showing a boat symbol and info, such as in this example:

Just checked the link that showed your position and now it seems to show the generic Marine Traffic display.

Anybody know a good electronics tech near the C & D canal I could talk to about finding a way to boost the signal?

It was another beautiful run on the ocean, flat, until we got to Cape May For anyone coming through here there's a dredge working at marker 14 and you have a real skinny and shallow turn to make there. When we got into the Canyon Club I got a little surprise. Came in, made my turn and touched the thruster that we just had installed. When I released it, it kept thrusting. Went to the other direction, NG. hit the off button, NG. Thankfully we have a breaker right there and shut it with that. And that's why I always tell people to learn to maneuver your boat the right way, and not depend on thrusters.
Here are a couple of pics of Atlantic City for those who've never seen anything but the inside of the casinos.:) IMG_3762.JPG

Welcome to YF Goodearth. I believe I read some posts from you on AGLCA. One thing I think everybody here and certainly everybody there has in common is that we all love "new territory", to see what we haven't seen before. Technically I'm in N.T. now (but only by about 5 miles ) having never come quite this far up the Delaware before, but I'm dying to get out on the Gulf and the Western rivers where I've never been before. For now though I'm living vicariously as my boss has never covered the waters we're currently cruising. We're also cruising at a tourist pace which is a big change for me. Generally I never see much past the marinas on land and it go, go, go because time is money and the owner wants his boat there asap.
I'll look in on your blog as soon as I get a chance. Isn't it nice to know that you've done something that most boaters only dream of? I've been dreaming of doing the Loop for 25 years, and clicking it off piecemeal. We're currently only on leg 1. I'm looking forward to crossing my wake, but am in no hurry to get there.

800 gallons at 8gpm.: Looks like we'll be casting off around 1115. Fortunately a fairly short run today.

looks like you are at Summit fueling. Don't forget to ask for a golf cart to get you up the hill!

Actually this is where we'll end leg 1 and lay her up until the beginning of September when we'll do the Chesapeake and Patomiac. Time to take care of other clients. This was a nice way to cruise. BTW, once again 175V. Got the pedestal scorching hot and popped its breaker every 10 minutes. Came to the conclusion we need to split the load, and have hooked up both 50 amp cords. Found a Nordhaven down the dock doing the same thing.

St. Michael's Maryland is a beautiful stop on the Chesapeake. Baltimore inner harbor is nice. Tangier island is an interesting stop (virginia) for a day as well. Ocean City is nice, but on the ocean side and you've probably seen that before.

Some good suggestions there. In fact Baltimore is scheduled as one of our first stops for leg 2. We're going to pass on Ocean City for now because the owner likes stress-free and O.C.'s inlet is rated as one of the most dangerous on the coast (generally ok, but I've hit it when it's not and that can get interesting), plus I've been there so many times. Also, after A.C.'s boardwalk O.C.'s is only so-so, and there's not much else there. I hit O.C. when I'm running the ocean down on transports.

This has been one of the few times I ever cruised at tourist pace, rather than transport pace. It's pretty cool. I'm looking forward to Legs 2 through 20 and beyond. This is the cruise I've been waiting 25 years for.:) I'm getting to relax and enjoy the cruising more, and getting to see some of the inland sights along the way, and the owner (who tends to plan things down to the last detail) is learning how to "wing it" more.

Make sure to stop at St. Michael's on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake. The harbor is beautiful and stress free. Many beautiful little shops and buildings. Make sure to eat at the Fin and Claw, amazing seafood.

Tangier, Island is also a worthy stop on the eastern shore in VA, I think you may need to anchor outside and dinghy in, although there might be a dock to accomodate you. It's the island John Smith founded (from Pocahontas). And very much like it always has been.

Little river or New river is also a neat stop on the very southern shore of the Chesapeke. All of the Navy's landing craft and stuff are docked and lined up there. There are a few nice marina's there and it's much different than docking around the corner in Norfolk.
