Want to replace coax cable to aft end. Where the heck do u access those connections? I think they(power cables too)run down and under aft cabin to aft bulkhead of engine room.
I need access to front of cable connection at stern( inside) because of nut on connector. No access panel that I can see. It comes in at the port top corner of aft cabin but hidden somehow!
Anyone been there , done that?

    Thanks

Are you trying to get to the back side of the shore connection point? Can't you just remove the jack from outside and pull out some slack?

If I knew path thru hull, I would do that and use old cable as pull wire.

I don't think you would be able to pull it through. It's most likely clamped along the way. The rear access to the shore power receptacles is behind the header in the aft cabin.

Good call. DK how it is on that boat, but I just had a problem with the Sat dish on a 56' Hat. We thought we'd have to change the main cable. Most of this stuff was laid in when the boat was fairly bare, and meant to last the life of the boat. Really tight bundles cabletied about every 4"-6". There's no pulling cables through that.

Where exactly is the header for rear access to power cables? I don't see any obvious access openings. Looks like I have to dismantle the whole thing....

There is no access. You have to remove the header valance. It's the long box that runs from the port quarter to the shower wall (cabin side). As I recall, there were very long screws, and many of them, securing the header to the transom/ceiling of the aft cabin. The screws were hidden by upholstery but you can find them and unscrew them without damaging the fabric. That's the best I can do for you without actually being at my boat and looking at it. It was many years ago when I had the header down. As I remember it was a real pain in the aft.

If it is just a new TV cable you are installing, and not servicing the shore power outlet, may I suggest that you simply install a new, smaller cable/coax box somewhere else on the boat? It may be easier. You can drill/cut a hole just outside the salon counter (port side). From there, you can run new digital cable up into the salon and split it back to the aft cabin along the port wall, through the firewall bulkhead, under the bed, up through the back of the starboard cabinet of drawers to the TV. Don't forget to secure it along the way. Good Luck. Let us know how you make out.

I know this is an old thread but I just thought I'd add my recent experience with my own 3807. (1991)

For some reason I will never begin to understand, there had never been coax TV cable run to the forward stateroom.

Incredibly, it took me EIGHT HOURS to get it there!!! LOL!

I removed the panel on the port salon wall where I had a coax connector, added a splitter, and ran a cable back down the hole, into the engine room, down through the battery holding area and threw the double firewall (no fun at all) then down the galley on top of the tanks down the center of the boat, and finally under the bed, and up the port side cabinet as suggested in the post above. WHAT A PIA!

Why didn't Carver put it in when they built the boat???? Didn't they think anyone watches TV in bed??
