I bought one from Post in the early 2000's and the comment at that time was that it was "the last one". Perhaps it can be sourced elsewhere.
P46 A machine shop can easily rebuild the latching mechanism. How are the face plates? Maybe burnish and replate? What's with that brass lock - is that original?
Hi Beau, I suppose it's the original, but incomplete...so would like to renew it. The brass lock looks terrible, I agree, and will replace that with a chrome alternative if found at Home Depot, I suppose the former owner add it as an alternative
P46 Paint looks real nice. How'd you prep the teak to take the 2 part spray? BTW, my wife,CZ, and I love Curaçao. We've dived there about a dozen times. Great bottle hunting territory. The lady pilots for KLM are interesting as well
Hi Beau, New River Marina (Ft Lauderdale) did the paint job so really don't know how they prepped it…next time I take you out diving to ‘small Curacao’…
P 46 I will take you up on that diving. How is the "new" Post in Maryland for info and parts? Can they give you any leads?
Just found my box where I had to replace the original door strike plate. It came from Merit Metal Products in Warrington Pa. Srike part number is 1783A Strike. Not sure if they did the actual handle part but should be a good place to start.
