Nice photos. What a stately yacht that Enticer is. I would like to see image #10 of here posted here.
Just looking back thru this subject thread and came across this beauty again http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/130911-post148.html Kudo's to the guys that spend the money to keep these beauty's afloat.
Built by Whiticar? Odd but true - she's "Elegante" - a 1964 "Trumpy" (NOT!) 61/63' built by Whiticar (Hull #31) hailing out of Naples, FL : Motor Yacht Elegante Sale - YouTube With her special Whiticar SF hull design and twin DDs (700hp each), captain claims 20 knots cruise, 24 tops - who believes this? In any case, she definitely sports the Trumpy "T" upfront (UPSIDE DOWN) and looks rather grand, so whoze 2 question, eh? CHeers! -Eric
Closer Look Best photo of "Elegante's" "T" - isnt that correct? (mite just be a whiticar - dammit!) Photo 3 - Authentic "T" (not "Elegante").
She is a whiticar, built as APHRODITE for Jock Whitney to replace his famous torpedo stern Purdy. Best, Maldwin
Illegal,... ..., no? It is a Trumpy "T" - UPSIDE DOWN. Emailed captain - let's see if he 'fesses up. Cheers! -E
Hi, I am new to the forum, I bought the Elsie Fenimore/ U.S.S. John M. Howard IX-75/ Now the Kick Back, about a year and a half ago, and restoring her. I should be painting next month, weather providing, and I am wondering if it is ok to put the T on her. I was reading in the forum for the answer, and did some research and found a photo on a magazine cover dated 1919, of a Trumpy that Has the T on it, so I think my 1934 could use a T. Can someone let me know if it is OK to put it on please? Here is a picture of my boat next to the magazine photo, I think mine would look fine with a T, I just don't want to do anything out of Character!
I need a set, once I find out if it is ok to put it on my boat! Let me know if they want to sell them. Thanks.
Dune? I can't find any info on this lovely lady... Not too many cockpit Trumpy around, right? She s been docked across the fairway from us in Coconut grove
Thanks... I thought she may be 60s vintage but wasn't sure. I love the cockpit. Unfortunately I rarely get to admire her lines as there is normally a 70' horizon docked on her port side. Amazing to see the difference in style and layout between these last trumpys and the hargrave designed hatteras MYs which were originally designed right around the same time One could say that history is repeating itself 50 years later with Hatteras not keeping up and become increasingly irrelevant, just like trumpy back then
