My khalidia, us virgin islands, 81-83

    Hi...

I was one of the 16 crew on Khalidia when she was based in St Croix and owned by AK. Great memories... though possibly through rose-tinted specs!

Would love to hear from anyone else who was on her at the same time. We had both my New Year's Eves on board in Nassau (my first one being exactly 30yrs ago tonight!), had five weeks in Bermuda and spent many a memorable time anchored off Conception Island in the Bahamas.

Do get in touch for more info or to say hello...

Hi, I was a steward on Khalidia for several years off and on during the early 80's and have extremely fond memories of great times and great friends, my memories are all good. We used to work hard for AK offspring and friends and then play hard (I still have the video!). Sorry, have no knowledge of engines etc but was a wiz with the vacunm cleaner and can make a mean rum punch. Would also love to hear from any crew who remember the smartest and hardest working crew member on board!

    Khalidia...

Ian, is that you...? Blond hair, worked alongside Bernard and Barry the crew chef...? This is Nick, who eventually left with Gillian. Let me know!

Nick, indeed it is, great to make contact again, unfortunately hair is grey now! It would be great to hear what you did when you left and what you're up to now, perhaps drop me a line on boggan@tiscali'co'uk and we can exchange updates. It does bring back good memories doesn't it, a few escapades remembered fondly and a few best forgotten! Kept in touch with CT and the Lee's for a while but no longer have contact details. I would be sorely tempted by a Khalidia reunion.

Edge, that must be you! AK's personal steward here, I met with Nick last year as result of previous exchange and he skyped Bernie (resides in Martinique). be good if you can get in touch via previous e-mail. Will try and attach some photos of Khalidia from the 80's. Thankyou to all who have contributed to this correspondence, fascinating to hear history and to know she fights on.

Ian, I'd remove your email address and use the PM function.

Unless of course you need a million 'Boner Pill' spam emails.:)
