    First Yacht in a Movie?

    I think this might be the first known "yacht" in a movie. A 16 year old Clara Bow in the 1922 classic "DOWN TO THE SEA IN SHIPS" on the Charles W. Morgan...:D

    Wooden motor Yacht

    Hi, I'm new here(great thread).

    I'm surprised no one has mentioned ``Senator Chapman's" wooden motor yacht, from the sci-fi movie``The Final Countdown" starring Kirk Douglas.( Gawd I love that boat! I wonder where it is now? Hopefully they really didn't blow it up....)

    UPDATE: The MY in ``The Final Countdown", was called The`` Gatsby". And, was recently sold for $137,000.00.

    The MY from ``The Last of Sheila", was called( at the time of the movie) ``MALAHNE". And was owned by film producer Sam Spiegel. The MALAHNE was re-fitted in the 1980's. it no longer resembles the my from the movie.

    Just saw the movie "Mud." Excellent movie and not just because they speak my language. The boats in this movie belong on numerous YF threads: Oops, Rogues, and probably every one but Yachts in Movies.

    Ya'll should go see this at your nearest picture show even if just to learn how to do a cheap refit (note: ya'll is not a misspelling of yawl.)

    there is a documentary that Discovery is doing and is to air soon to be called SuperYachts...and will feature a number of prominent Dutch yards, Vitters, Hakvoort, Icon..and companies like Vripack and so on.

    YF's own Travler posted back in September that one of his commercial fishing boats was used in the movie. I would rename the movie "Boat of Steel" :D

    Her registry number is on her hull; F375564 (SS Morning Star)

    That bow line is obscuring the second number, and there's no state sticker, but you got to know that it's a US vessel since there's a CG cutter in the background.

    In the Walker & Alba movie "Into the Blue," Bryce is gifted a mansion with jet skis & a fine power-yacht. The long white boat sitting in the sea behind the mansion, all by it's lonesome... What model is that boat, & who manufatures it?
