Another look at "2 Ladies" mast...having those very discreet mast lights...alot smaller and less noticable than the traditional big lights with the coloured lenses.
The marina will be getting a few more yachts this month as well...I think "Dare to Dream" is back, she left last week. "2 Ladies" is still here, "Inmocean" is coming..."Destination Fox Harb'r" (unclear if it's the sail yacht to the motoryacht at the moment). "Lady Emily", a few race committee sail yachts, Challenger 1 and 2, the relatively new "Germania Nova", "Grey Goose". Some of these yachts overlap with yachts arriving at the Bridgetown Port, I don't know how I am going to be two places at once....
Four smallish sail yachts came this morning...I was there to photograph them and the other sights while I was there. * 45M Rossi Navi "2 Ladies" and Lazzara "Dare to Dream" * Initial overview... * "Svetlana" * "Svetlana" closer... * Arrivals in progress...
More... * T/T "2 Ladies" * With about 4 days left for "2 ladies" in Bim, they started to bunker...so crew member breaks out the BRAVO flag to hoist it. * I felt for this lad, after chamoising the entire sundeck...the rain came down hard for about 5 min...and afterward..had to be back out again doing it all over. * It's a hard life, or is it the rock? Crab! * Lagoon 360 called "LIZA"
Some more scenes... * Apreamare 12 called "Lazy Bones of Barbados" exiting the inlet. * Same boat going through the channel * Certainly doesn't look very lazy! * After her performance run...she lazily retreats to her condo slip. * Atlantic races are on and finishing in St. Lucia, "Challenger 1" arrived this morning from St. Lucia. Challenger 2 may come also at a later date.
Still even more pics... * "Lady Emily" coming through... * Mooring work! * Hold 'er there lady! * T/T "Lady Emily" *
Last Batch... * "Lady Emily" Radar... * sailing vessel "Five Star" * Flags of "Five Star" * "Five Star is......... a Sun Odessey 42 DS
Thanks for the great series of shots YN!!! Is Challenger's mast bowed or is it an optical illusion and or my bad eyes that makes it seem that way to me??
it's 'bowed'...it isn't straight..well at least to my eyes, and the camera seems to be seeing the same thing that I am seeing as well...soo..it's bowed! Thanks Disco!
The new replica of schooner "Germania", the "Germania Nova" arrived this morning! She's a 55-meter 2011 build by that Spanish yard Factoria Naval Marin I think? * "Germania Nova" out in the distance...wrapping up her main sheet and spreading the shade tarp. * Antigua & Barbuda Registry! * A friend swam by to say hello * and her b/f the squid said hi as well. * Mr. Crab aren't friends with them...
More pics! * Some of the crew having breakfast... * Double-masted detail! * Dropping the starboard side boarding ladder * Perparing to put in the rails * rails in, done!
And some more! * T/T "Germania Nova" checking out the inner marina... * Went back out to G N for a fellow crew member to bring in arrival documents. * On his way to get the yacht cleared. * Another yacht that came...small sailing cat, a 'Broadblue 435' cakked "Serenity" * "Serenity" in at the fuel dock.
Yet some more, hope you guys are enjoying the coverage! It's hard to gauge whether you are or not... * "2 Ladies" enjoying the last bit of Bajan sunshine...I believe she is departing in a few days. * Before G N could be cleared the crew were frolicking in the Barbadian Blue! * Dive Dive Dive... * Plunge.... * "Germania Nova" in the nice sunshine.
Last few... * "Leonard C. Banfield" (P02) of the Barbados Coast Guard arriving to watch over proceedings. * "Germania Nova" in Barbadian paradise...
I am shure many enjoy your great coverage with these lovely photos! Barbados must be beautiful place to life at...Do these yachts always have to send a tender for clearance before they can dock in the Marina? Thanks for taking the time!
A few posts back you photographed an aprea mare......... a populair boat amongst dutch people in the med, but in the caribbean it's a rare sight. It's a timeless design I think some people call them bath tubs...........
