Another superyacht due tomorrow. Will not release the name but I will try and be there for the arrival, she's going to be a first time arrival.
At 11:20 am LT the 88-meter "Musashi" arrived at the Bridgetown Port. Here are a few pics I took for you guys/gals whom may be interested.
Thanks Disco, I think she's the only Wally tender here, well at least that I know about. "Musashi" is something though! She is deceptive in her size, she really doesn't look like 290-feet and seeing the crew walking around on her, they look like ants!
She looks clean after crossing the big atlantic. One of my favourites........impressive yacht. Barbados really needs a superport for megayachts.
Yeah she was pretty clean...hardly any soot on the aft hull and to think she really stretched her legs on the final 20 miles or so, I remember her hitting nearly 19-knots.
Here's the result of my attempt to photograph her at night. Bare in mind that I am 2.5 miles away from the yacht! I am no where near her.
"Musashi" departed like an hour after I took that above shot. Really didn't stick around, just long enough to bunker.
Thanks for taking time to post them Ron, many nice pics for her short stay! She clearly was not fully lit up...
She was mostly lit...the only lights that weren't on were the strip lighting in the railings. I'm not sure if she has up lights in her bulb or if she has underwater lights all around the hull.
At 13:15 LT the 70-meter Lurssen "Skat" arrived at a packed Bridgetown Port. By-the-way today is our Independence Day so it's a holiday. * Blending in nicely with her background...and yes it's her helicopter * Crew preparing the bow lines... * Pennant numbers all lined up... * "Skat"...skating * General view of the harbour, "Ventura", "Norwegian Sun", "AIDAluna" (partially hidden), "Silver Cloud" (hidden), "RFA Argus".
Lol at first I thought "Skat" has a new bird on board and was surprised that it was missing on the second picture until I recognized that the heli is on the naval vessel! Nice to see her with a naval vessel... almost no differences!
Lol...yep Milow. I purposely took it that way. Not often that I get to see her passing in front of a naval vessel especially know, she looks like one. Many persons have asked me in the past what category of warship is she? Frigate perhaps? LOL
I guess Skat would be one of the few yachts that could pass Somalia without having troubles..............
I was just watching a tv program about living on Barbados. It was an english program, but they were saying that there were plans to build a superyacht pier at Speightstown........I dont know how old that program was. Did you hear anything about that?
There's talk all over the place. That won't happen anytime soon. The only place I see a superyacht marina possibly in any proposal would be near the new Sugar Point cruise terminal that is 'supposed' to be built in town (Bridgetown).
We are expecting a few yachts soon... won't give an idea of the dates...like to give these guys some privacy. However, I can tell you, "Serene", "Lauren L", "Katara", "C2", "Vertigo" etc I know about for the Port very soon.
