I am also interested in how to do this. I recently surveyed a Bayliner motor yacht that I ended up not buying, and it needed the same thing doing. The recommended technique on the Bayliner owners forum was to cut away the felt covered neoprene or rubber track and squeeze in new track underneath the sliding window. They had a link to a place where you can purchase the track in 8 ft lengths.

Now I'm looking at an aft cabin Carver that will probably need the same treatment. I had started a thread on the possible purchase of a Carver 36, and asked the same question there. It seems the aluminum frame around the windows can be unscrewed and removed. I believe the window can then be removed.

If I end up proceeding with the purchase of this boat I will probably do this and replace the track as well as sealant around the windows. Hope this helps...

I believe Sea Time is correct in that you need to remove the exterior frame to get the glass out of the track.
Please post when you get it figured out.

    Removing Windows

I need to remove the salon windows to get the sofa out for re-upholstering. The window frame needs to be SLIGHTLY spread vertically by way of a porta puller or similar hyldraulic jack. Once the frame is spread about a 1/16 or 3/32 of an inch, the pane can be lifted out. Replacement is just as simple.

    Eagerly awaiting

I'm eagerly awaiting the results of adambomb's removal of his window. I have a 4207 aft cabin that needs a leaky port salon window repaired. I'm hoping he can shed some light on a good technique to remove, reseal and replace.
