Standard "Manage Attachments" upload procedure. I haven't tried the iPhone with iOS6 yet, but I'm downloading the software now...

This is GREAT news! I no longer have to lug a laptop around, download images from a camera, log-on to a WiFi and pray for decent speed. This means we could do live show coverage with an iPad as we walk the docks! It means anyone with an iPhone could take pic and upload it directly to a forum for the world to see within seconds.

That s great!!! I was reluctant to upgrade my phone because I'd loose google street view in maps but that's a great incentive!

So apple has finally given users more access to files?

How does the picture get resized though?

Yep! It also means Apple recognizes the importance of forums. I don't know if iOS6 works with other types of forum software, but it's no surprise they would code for vB based forums first; generally the most popular platform in each sector.

On image size, I'm about to upload a picture from my iPhone. It's 2000 pixels wide, so let's see if the software resizes the image...

OK, that's interesting. It's reducing the pics, but taking taking portrait pics and rotating them to landscape. The girl is a model in France, sitting next to to me on the train running from Antibes to Monaco. She looked better in person...

Lets try a landscape pic. Another model in Monaco. Anyone recognize her? Or the man next to her?

OK, landscape works and the software is automatically reducing image sizes to 800 pixels, about the max you want on a forum thread. Good!

I'm sorry to be such a geek, but this is really exciting to me! This adds tremendous flexibility to our media. And value...!

That's some hard work you were up to there...

If she looked better in person, wow... she doesn't look half bad in iPhone to begin with. :p

She's easier on the eyes when viewed upright. Did I say that??? Anyhow, the close-up made her nose look prominent. It wasn't. She was quite beautiful, but we're getting off subject. Wait, boats and babes go hand-in-hand, right?

    Awesome Carl!

    1. Can the geek in you find a way to have the images appear without the box around them that says attached image?

There are lots of pics on the forum that do not have what I find to be that distracting box.

    2. Do you know if any Android products can upload directly to the forum?

You already know how to do this. Reference your image attachment of aerial shots yesterday in the "Italian vs. Dutch" thread.

I like that box. It let's me know the image is on YF's server. For reviews, I remove the box and other postbits because I know where the image is located... I uploaded it!

I don't know, but if iOS6 accommodates, you can be certain Android will follow because they often lead! I use the iPhone because because the Android OS feels chunky to me, although Ice Cream sandwich feels creamier. I have not messed around with Jelly Bean yet.

On that note, I haven't purchased the i5 yet either. Siri and LTE are the big draw, but the screen remains too small for my old eyes. I'm waiting on the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. This might be my next phone if it has a brighter screen then past Samsung offerings...

Hi Carl, Thanks for the explanation and information!

I wish there was a less conspicuous visual queue to easily know images are from the server so all the pics could look as pristine as they do in the reviews.
