What's your favorite yacht?

My long time favourite is definitly 2002 "Carinthia VII" by Lurssen,
but among "smaller boats" Azimut 86s takes it for me, for I belive it is one of the best looking boats around

OK now I remember, Nero is the yacht. What lines! Although I wouldn't want the maintenance job or bill for all that external wood

Nero is and always has been an impressive boat to me. I don't know that I'll ever be at the level to maintain a boat like that though. I've been blessed with a fair amount of success, but that's a whole new ballpark that I can't even imagine.

My family had hull #5 of the 68 Plus. The former Texas Tea. That might be the same boat. Moved up to a 75' Viking FB Sport Cruiser.

It burns to much fuel, has lousy range but Dragon has the lines that trips my trigger. Pretty strong words for a Manitowoc boy.

If money were no object...

I'd take the 50 Let Pobedy (50 Years of Victory) Expedition Icebreaker. 159 meters of strength and power. Nuclear power would make it run for probably a decade without fuel. Fuel is stored and changed en vessel. Of course I'd have to drop 150+/- mil to make the interior and shape more supple. It would be nice to have the first real private nuclear yachting vessel. Id take her EVERYWHERE! I'd also have to think about the porting vessel it would carry. Something in the 45-50 foot range so I can go to any port.

For a much lower price point, I'd take the Delta Triton. 50 meters of exploration in comfort and style!

haha.. well, yes it would run a long time without fuel.... , the german Otto Hahn made 220.000 nautical miles with just 22kg of uranium. it was a problem 40, 50 years ago for these ships to find harbours which let them enter to get new freight.... but today? no chance!
soooo a yacht with such system would be just nice for someone who want to cruise the oceans without ever being near land.. i bet you would even not be allowed to enter any 12 mile zone of any country on this planet. well, maybe austria and switzerland.. hahaha, but except your yacht can fly, they are relatively save from a crazy owner with a nuclear bomb ....sorry, power plant aboard
i don't see any chance for a nuclear powered yacht to enter any marina on this planet... so where would be a reason to use such yacht, except your name is captain nemo. but if this is your name i am sure you prefer a submarine.

Remember, you have to be able to afford to actually run and maintain the yacht....for me a paid for Bering 21m.....a rum on the rocks, and Harbour Island to my left.

Mhm... so many beauties are floating around...

"ACE" and "Mogambo" are clearly stunning and in design wises currently my favourite yachts. "Palladium", "Radiant", "Serene", "Valerie" and "7 Seas" are great as well besides many others.
Another very nice yacht is "Garbo" from AMG - I do not why but I love her!

My favourite sailing yacht is the newest and 58m long "Kokomo".

But if I had the money I would probably choose a LE 177/180 like "Bel Abri" - they are beautiful/contempoary and have a perfect size for my requirements...so I would choose her.

yes, right.... i just had to go back to page one to see when this thread started and wow... time runs so fast. yes.. many of the present beauties didn't exist in 2004. on the other side i am a little like a loyal dog because i still like the boats i mentioned 8 years ago. but the list has grown.. hahahaha!

yes, Ace, Mogambu and Serene look great. Serene is phantastic!

but in addition.... and not only because i am from hamburg/germany i like the two older designs from blohm & voss shipyard which you can find at their website.

the 111m vintage motor yacht concept and also the 120m+ exploration yacht "suv" at sea. in my opinion this is a great design with some potential. especially those special windows in the hull and the upper part of the superstructure has something i like. hahaha, well if i had the money i would build this "suv" just to see if this yacht looks in reality as good as in the concept paintings. maybe my luck i do not have to think about spending that money. ok wait ... i know it's not the right forum for this but .... i search for a very, very rich woman .... haha!

Still after so many years, Pelorus would be my dream yacht and I if had the $$$$ and it came up for sale, SOLD!!!

I do love Kismet, Ice, Y701, Lady Lola, the new "M/Y Serene" and of course, many of AMG's killer designs...

Size, 80m to 90m, a full owner's deck, plenty of room for crew, heli pad (heli to be stored on the YES Shadow boat) Also needs serious tender storage, dive shop, place to mount and use a 'barbie....huge galley for lavish meals....huge wine cellar for loads of both Old and New World wines....full displacement hull with wide beam...diesel electric/pod propulsion (would love to see a totally diesel free option offered, whatever the technology

With glass technology being what it is, LOADS of floor to ceiling windows...the list goes on and on

If money were no object, for me it would the beautiful luxurious, Maxi, mega 165 foot sailing catamaran by Alcon-yachts. The company is located in France, (somewhere). I love this cat, because it is absolutely exquisite. It would be a perfect home on the water, to travel to anywhere in the world. Increditble comfort all the way. I would prefer to be the captain on my yacht along with my other half, and no crew. Only guests such as family and friends, and perhaps charter it out. If money were no object I would want an entire fleet of these exquisite catamarans and they would have a fully staffed crew and they would be chartered out. I would have some in the Alantic, and some in the Pacific, (my favorite ocean) and perhaps the Mediterrean, and where ever the more popular areas to go to are... Nothing is more relaxing than being surrounded by a body of water. You can have these cats custom made to your liking too from what I understand. I love the huge space onboard. When you feel you need your own privacy, you have it!
