    Hey all...

I was wondering if Royal Denship is still in business. When one goes to their website all you get is a single page, with nothing more than the company's logo and a Welcome to Royal Denship A/S statement....

I sure hope so because Princess Mariana (now another name) is still one of my Most Beautiful yachts....

    Cheers,

Not they are not anymore... Moonen finished their latest project, a 38m Dixon design.

Nope... We were entering contract on a 41m in the beginning of the year and tried contactin them for some info...i may be able to get a name...

The owner backed out 1 day before signing the contract cause his wife changed her mind..... :s 3 months negotiation....

Eitherway, from my memory, they were the alliance of 3 shipyards... at least 2 are still alive on their own... Royal Denship was just the brand that managed the yacht builds and brought it together... so in theory if you still wanted something major from one of the yards you could probably contact the yard or one of the sub contractors...

In this case, the yard that build the particular vesse above had really closed... it was Alborg iirc...

Update: yep. according to wikipedia, total 4 yards, 2 remain, 2 bankrupted... Some more info from memory and from looking at builder names and making links:

Aalborg and Aarhus were closed... apparently Princess Mariana's yard, (called Fayard A/S) is still around... I think FB (ex-Big Roi) was built there too, and so were other larger denship steel yachts.

Aalborg was only (?) GRP (upto the 41m in question and including their smaller failed 80ft series)...

The yacht from Aarhus were sent to other yards (moonen?) when they shut in 07

    hope it helps...

They went belly-up back in 2009, but I think Aalborg yard is still running under DanYard which was part of the group and built Pegasus's Ex. day boat "Moon Goddess" also designed by Espen Oeino. They even made a couple more that are bigger than "MG".

Princess Mariana is on the top of my list, can't but love that boat!

    Cheers,
    Alf

Thanks for the posts....does Fayard still do yachts or are they now a strictly commercial/large scale builder??

That's ok because it is still nice walking at 80 degrees!
