We need a picture thread enjoying our Post's. This was in Manhasset Bay\Port Washington NY this past weekend. Cell phone doesn't do the sunset justice.

Coming back from Oyster Bay on Saturday. LI Sound was flat. Was moored in Oyster for the 4th but wasn't aware of the sinking and tragedy until Thursday. Did see plenty of police and Coast Guard boat activity that night. Really horrible for the families.

Passed a 46 heading east towing a Whaler? near Glen Cove late morning. Was that anyone on here?

Hello RT46, Good eye on the smoke. This picture was 5 years ago and had to rebuild both engines. No smoke today and she cruises at 23 knots @1875. This picture is at cruise with Detroit 6V92's

wow nice cruise speed with the 92's

BTW, Your cruise speed is close to my WOT speed in a 46 w/ 671 TIBs.

Maybe I will see you blow by me someday on the way to BI.....just make sure you waive so i can take your pic, ha.

    Regards,

    RT46

    Hey RT 46,
This boat is a great rebirth story. I found her 7 years ago after wanting a POST 46,44,or43 with larger engines than 671's. She was an unloved Repo in Detroit. I bought her from the bank, took her thru Erie, Erie canal, Hudson River, East River and finally Long Island Sound to Point Judith. Rebuilt the engines, redid interior thru-out, new cushions everywhere and new Strato-glass enclosure. Use much more fuel that the 671's, but the speed of this older boat makde it worth it to me. Please tell me about your 46 if you get the chance. Love talking POST.

I run up and down the LI sound, a pond for any Post. I can tell a Post 2 miles off. I am so glad they are back in business. From the 50 on down there isn't a better looking boat IMO. They are thoroughbreds! The 53 and 56?? I will be buried at sea in hull 50-042, but I hope I have many engine rebuilds in front of me.

    I agree.
My friend says to me " you've owned that boat long enough, when are you going to get a new one? "

My reply is that this boat suits me perfectly and I'll stick with it.

My buddy owns a classic 79 46' that has been totally redone. I own an Egg but also love Posts. I agree with everyone that these boats have great looking lines. Every year we attend the A/C boat show, we would stop by Post and look around their yard. The last couple of years were really sad when we would see the gate chained up and the buildings looking very abandon. I wish Worton Creek the best of luck bringing Post back but he most likely will not build any boats for inventory but only for direct orders.
