    Hi
There is a possibility - sigh - that I may have to replace the Robertson A/P that came with my 65' Viking M/Y (78,000 lbs, 2 x 820 MAN).
I would be interested in opinions regarding what to consider.
BTW - I have NavNet's at the helm.
    Thanks

Sorry to hear about the Nav-Nets.
On the A-Pilot recommendation, I have and always will have praise for the Simrad stuff. I don't your old options will carry up (maybe pump) but I love this stuff.
The next comment said, I understand Navico owns Simrad now. I have contacted them with questions and they have been very helpful on the Robertson/Simrad equipment made in the last 20 years. The old Robertson library seems to be disappearing weekly. Spares other than cables and small options are long gone.
What old pilot do you have? AP1XX to AP20? They were good ole units. Good used spares are still around. I have found allot of Hail-Mary parts on e-bay.

I also like the Simrad autopilots. The furuno autopilot would be my second choice.......

    thanks for your input all.

Re the NavNets - I am happy with them - just wish the interface (cursor scroll) was a bit easier than it is.

There is a replacement ball from Fruno. About $80 each. The ball socket is also available (with out ball) for another $80. When the UV starts to eat up those balls, they will never scroll rite again.
