According to "Precision Paddleboards" on facebook:

"The Las Olas Marina is now officially open to paddleboarders as a launch site during manned hours. Direct intracoastal access, lots of affordable parking"

Paddle boats cost as much as many Kayaks, so I prefer Kayaking. But, any body noticed how much hot women are into SUP's? They even have something called BOGA YOGA for paddles!! Don't let me start talking about that!

Does the City of Fort Lauderdale really need to dedicate a dock to paddle boards? Why leave out the kayaks and jet ski's also?

I think this is their way in keeping paddlers under control for saftey issues, do you know any special features of the area of the marina? maybe it has less traffic, better waters to accomodate such a fragile sport. For me, I used to think they just need a beach to launch from and thats it!

    Cheers.

Not hardly. The City Marina is right next to the Las Olas bridge that has a lot of current and a lot of vessel traffic. Far from an ideal spot for it.

Think many paddle boarders have a VHF and/or understand rule 9b?

Well, if you see pictures of them doing yoga on those boards in the middle of the ocean, you will notice that they don't even have underwear on!

There was an issue previously about saftey, because if in surf zone, they are considered surfboards and does not require even a life vest, but beyond the surf zone they are considered vessels and follow the regular regulations and recommendations, this is something that many paddlers doesn't seem to understand, nevertheless follow! The irritating part, is the rental services that are supposed to be professionals but many of them does not care for these details.

    Cheers.

Sorry about the underwear thingy but she is off Fort Lauderdale Beach in front of The Palms condos demonstrating some very striking and difficult Yoga poses while on her paddle board in the ocean!

There are several places renting paddle boards in Fort Lauderdale in safer locations than at the foot of the Las Olas Bridge. I have seen paddle boarders on just about every body of water in the Venice of the Americas, some safe and out of the way others right in the middle of the Port and on the busy New River. They look like a great way to have fun and keep in shape!

DaaaAAAaaaAAAmn! Man am selling my adventure island kayak and settling for adventure fancy card board!

As I said before, the professionals are to be blamed, specially when they rent those boards without asking where they're intended to be used. I think that the waters are for everybody but the priority is duty over pleasure.

    Thanks for the vid.

    Cheers.
