Hi all, I just bought a 1990 3608 aft cabin carver and was wondering what is the different in the 3607 and the 3608's. also can anyone tell me if around 53,000.00 is a good price? the vessel is in wonderful shape. Thanks :D Vickie

3607 is a completely different boat. It has more of a trawler look, no covered aft deck, less beam.

    Carver changed the model 3608 to the 370 1993-1996. I think there's a lot more 370's around than 3608's.

If it's in wonderful shape I think you got a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the answer, we can't wait until the weather warms ups and off we go for the summer. We get ownership this weekend! If you have any advise for us please let us know. This is our 2nd boat, we have a 40 ft. marinett, this boat was a small one but was special remake and is double hull and a great boat. Just no aft cabin. Thanks again and hope to make a lot of new friends here. Vickie and Pete:)

I own a 1994 370, these are some great boats. Ask away with any questions you might have!

thanks for answering, I don't know too much about the boat yet, like I said this coming weekend we get the keys to the boat. I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. I feel very comfort on my other boat but this is new to us. Thanks again Vickie

Did you know that Carver took every single one of those boats back and took care of the problem free of charge? Its not a Hatteras or a Bertram like Mr. Pascoe seems to think every person in the world should own but Carver owners didn't pay those prices either.

I enjoy my piece of sh!t.

Huck Finn was happy with a few logs tied together. Every boat is good if it does what you need it to do. I had a friend with an '85 Bayliner. Dare I tell you how many ladies he enjoyed there. I bet he'd condider that one of his best boats.:D In fact I'd bet he got more on that boat than most have gotten on a Hat.

the 3607 is more on the line of go fast trawler, mine will do 27 knots but I pay a high price for it, at 14 to 16 knots she'll run all day and give me about 1.3 mpg each engine at hull speed she sips gas..Google them and you'll see the diff. in them your 3608 was the next step in the line the 07's 32,36,42's went out of style and the euro boats came in to style...

And the 3607 had optional hardtop and radar arch also as you can see under my name...

I looked at several 3607s before I bought a 4207... I found the 3607 a little rocky..the 4207 is solid on the water and tracks very well... the 3607s around lake Texoma, Texass are asking around 30,000 and are in great shape. Ive seen more other brand boats in the ship yard than Carver... that being said though I am a lake boater with at best 4 foot swells... I wouldnt take a million dollar viking offshore in rough seas...although it can handle it I couldnt...

4207 has more beam than the 36, and 6' more of boat would be a good thing  36's over here are getting 35 to 45k if they sell.

    +1

But no 1990 boat will be in wonderful shape as you've no doubt found out if you already purchased it. Perhaps I should retract that, define wonderful!

Every boat is a good boat if it suits to owner's needs, is priced appropriately and is used for the purpose intended. Don't care if it's 6 logs tied together with twine. Just don't try to go sport fishing in the canyon with it.

I have a Carver 370 (1991) and love it. When I bought it it had 300 plus hours on two rebuilt 454 Crusaders. I have put some money into the genset with is almost new, but other than some cosmetic work, i.e. new carpet and new canvas, that is all I have spent. I also boat out of Texoma Marina on Lake Texoma.

My boat is currently at Cedar Mills boat yard having a bottom job done. Good luck with your new boat!

I just love the way that someone brings up this one (read: 1) review from 15 years ago when someone new asks about a Carver! How about getting a little more information from the owner prior to ripping apart their vessel? You haven't seen it, you know nothing about it or it's maintenance, it's previous owners, or about the Carver company itself.

A boat is no better than the maintenance plan that the owner follows. There are 30 year old Bayliners still out running around and there are Bertrams on the bottom of the ocean. Have the boat surveyed and judge for yourself.

By the way... I love my Carver. Good performance, extremely reliable, great fit and finish.

I have nothing but good things to say about my Carver. I love the roominess and it fits my needs perfectly. We have thought about ungrading to a newer boat, but I just cannot turn this one aloose.
